Great. First day at this school, and I got an annoying girl as my seatmate!
I sighed inward and walked toward my seat.
The Moonfall classroom was an amphitheater-style room, unlike anything I had seen before. Rows of tiered seats spiraled around a central platform where the professor stood, giving the room a grand yet intimidating atmosphere. Even though my assigned seat was in the back corner near a window, it was still great for avoiding attention but close enough to see everything.
"Luna..." Standing on the platform, Professor Peregrine wasted no time addressing me directly. Her voice echoed sharply in a tone as precise as her thin, wire-rimmed glasses. "I understand that entering an advanced-level class so suddenly must be difficult for you. For that reason, you'll need to study harder than your peers to catch up." Her sharp gaze made it clear she didn't tolerate excuses.
