Elijah's mind reeled as he processed the events of the assessments. Lady Aurelia's words echoed in his mind: "The academy's secrets and challenges await."
Immediately Lady Aurelia finished talking, she left and headed for the Academy's building while the 25 new students stood looking confused about what they should do.
Instructor Kael quickly appeared in front of the students.
"Follow me students of Pile academy." Kael said as he walked forward while the students followed him.
Kael nodded towards the vampires on the side of the double doors of the academy building and they pushed the doors open.
As they walked toward the academy's main building, Ryker approached him Elijah. "You think you're worthy of being here, Elijah? You're nothing but a weakling and you won't last long here trust me, I will make your life miserable."
Elijah ignored Ryker's taunts, focusing on the mysteries within the academy.
Upon entering the building, Elijah was greeted by a grand foyer with a sweeping staircase. Lady Aurelia stood at the top, flanked by two imposing figures.
"Welcome, students, to Pile Academy. Your journey begins now."
Elijah's gaze fell upon a figure standing apart from the others – a woman with piercing green eyes.
"Who is she?" Elijah wondered.
Lady Aurelia introduced the woman as Professor Lilith, a renowned expert in vampire magic.
"Your instructors will guide you through your studies," Lady Aurelia said. "But be warned: the academy's secrets come at a price. Loyalty, discipline, and sacrifice will be required."
As Lady Aurelia departed, Elijah felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Hey, I'm Lucas," a friendly voice said. "I saw you during the assessments. You're pretty tough for someone who can hardly fight."
Elijah smiled, grateful for the friendly face.
"Hi Lucas, my name is Elijah…"
"Elijah Valois. Yeah, I heard you introducing yourself to instructor Kael." Lucas said.
"So what are we to do next now?" Elijah asked Lucas.
"I think we are to head over to our dorm room." Lucas said.
Right on cue, Kael clapped his hands and the students gathered round.
"I will lead you all to the direction of your dorms, you can go in and pick your rooms. Then whatever belongings you brought that was taken from you at the gate, will be brought to your room in an hour." Kael said.
And then he walked forward so did the students follow him towards where he was headed.
Kael led the students to their dormitory where they was going to be three per room.
Lucas and Elijah entered one of the room and settled in while trying to get to know each other. After some minutes, the door opened up and a tall handsome vampire walked in with his black hair swept back.
"Hi y'all, my name is Alex Khaois. I'm glad to know you all." Alex said and then he went to take the last bed as he settled in.
'What a brief and weird introduction.' Elijah thought as he watched Alex sitting.
"So Elijah what happened? I heard you were part of the Valois family, what happened?" Lucas asked and now Alex who was somewhat disinterested in his roommates on hearing the Valois family, turned around.
"They were murdered, my parents and then I lost everything." Elijah said as he remembered what happened.
"Tragic." Alex muttered.
"But who would want to kill them and why?" Lucas asked.
"I don't know." Elijah said with a shrug. "But I plan to find out and avenge them."
Lucas smiled and then they decided to get some rest because of the rigorous test they had been put to today. It took a toll on their physical and mental health so they decided to get some rest.
As they settled in to sleep, Elijah noticed strange symbols etched into the walls.
"What are these symbols?" Elijah asked Lucas.
"Those are protection wards," Lucas replied. "The academy's secrets are hidden behind layers of magic. We'll learn more about them in our studies."
"What secrets exactly? And if it was secret, then why expose to the students that there are secrets to be discovered?" Elijah asked.
"The academy are wise in their ways, they know that curiosity kills the cat. So they told us all about the secrets so we would be curious enough to try and find out and then we will be eliminated without a trace. So I will advice you don't go looking for any secrets, focus on you training in the academy." Alex said as he went to lay down.
Elijah's curiosity grew. What secrets lay hidden within the academy's walls?
That night, when Elijah was trying to sleep, he suddenly heard a voice in his head.
He wanted to freak out but then listening to the voice, it sounded familiar.
"Meet me in the east wing at midnight. Come alone."
The voice said and
Elijah was suddenly worried about who would want to meet him by midnight and what for.
