Chapter 4 - Planing

In the morning while Liam was nursing his aching arse because of a night of pleasure, the author of that ache was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for his lover while running thoughts on the ideal place to create their base. David, with that in mind returned to their bedroom.

"Hello Lovely."

Liam grumbled something in his pillow.

" Yeah, I know, but you like it when I go hard."

The blond whined before lifting his head and pouting, making the brown haired chuckles.

After eating, they found themselves with block notes discussing of their next plan.

"First, we have to remember that, in three years it's the beginning of it all."

"But we have to be at the base before the last year, so really, we just have two years to prepare. And with our murder."

"We came one day later, if we had came earlier, we would have killed her more in our style, now we don't have the leasure time for killing, maybe in the apocalypse."

" Last time it took them two years to found it was us."

"And by the time they did, this time, we would be at the base."

"That is if we don't intervene."

Liam absently twirled a pencil in his fingers, deep in thought. He bit his lip, glancing at David across the table, who was furiously scribbling new ideas for their plan.

"Okay, so we know that after we—after she…" He paused, the memory still raw despite the passage of time. "We have to be careful. We can't let anyone get too close to us. No loose ends."

David nodded, his brow furrowing. "Right. We need to establish the base in a location that feels safe and allows for quick exits if needed. Somewhere remote, but with easy access to supplies."

Liam's mind wandered to the old, abandon cabin they had stumbled upon during their initial time in this era. It had been rugged, cloaked in nature, and utterly perfect for someone trying to disappear. "What about the cabin we found up in the hills? It had a stream nearby, and enough land to grow food."

David's eyes lit up. "That's a good idea! We can set it up for survival and make it appear abandoned. If we keep it low-key, it can serve as a perfect hideout. But we could maybe go deeper in the forest, not deep enough to meet evoluate beats, but enough that people won't risk going in there."

They both fell silent for a moment, considering their options. The thought of that cabin felt strangely.

But really that cabin won't really be of much help without fortifying, and it means making her position know, so maybe they could kill before the apocalypse.

Liam smiled softly.

"What about supplies? If we're moving in early, we'll need things to sustain us while we set everything up."

"We could start creating an inventory of what we'd need. Non-perishables, weapons, tools… maybe even some basic seeds for farming."

"Right," Liam replied, jotting down ideas as David rattled them off. "And we should identify places to gather these supplies. We'll need to hit those spots in the next year, while things still seem normal."

"Exactly. And we also need to build a fallback plan, in case things don't go as we expect."

Liam sighed, glancing at the clock; they had already spent the morning lost in their scheming.

They exchanged a knowing glance.

Returning to their notes, they plotted timelines and arranged tasks.
