Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: The Rumor Mill of Space

---

The quiet hum of the S.H.I.E.L.D. operations room continued as the meeting progressed, but now the conversation had taken a different turn—one that wasn't about Javier's growing influence, but his personal life. The members of S.H.I.E.L.D. weren't accustomed to talking about such topics, but in this case, it was inevitable.

After Tony Stark had cracked his usual jokes and the conversation about Javier's potential rise to the presidency had died down, Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) leaned forward with a smirk. "You know, there's something else we should discuss. And it's not about the world's political future."

The room fell silent, all eyes now on Carol, and even Nick Fury's usual unshakable demeanor seemed to falter as he raised an eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" Fury asked, his tone curious but cautious.

Carol let out a little chuckle before answering, her voice casual but laced with amusement. "I've been in space long enough to hear rumors, and trust me, there are whispers. Javier's love life… let's just say it's more than a bit complicated."

Peggy Carter, who had been listening intently, let out a sharp exhale, clearly annoyed, but trying to maintain her composure. She knew exactly where Carol was going with this and didn't particularly appreciate it being brought up in front of the entire team.

"Complicated? Care to elaborate, Carol?" Tony asked, a knowing grin already spreading across his face. "I assume you've heard some interesting stories?"

Carol leaned back in her chair, arms folded as she gave Tony a knowing look. "You could say that. You've heard of his company G.R.O., right? Well, that's nothing compared to the stories about his relationships."

Captain America (Steve Rogers), who hadn't been particularly invested in the conversation until now, shot Tony a confused glance. "You mean his love life? What does that have to do with anything?"

"Everything," Natasha Romanoff, who had been silently observing, finally spoke up. "Javier is a legend—not just on Earth, but in space, too. The guy is a playboy. But what's even more interesting is how many powerful women he's been involved with."

"Wait, you're saying this is important?" Tony interrupted, his voice still lighthearted, but there was a slight edge to it now, as if he was trying to steer the conversation in a less serious direction.

Carol, however, didn't miss a beat. "It's not just important, it's relevant. I heard this firsthand from a few of my contacts in space. Apparently, Javier's got quite the collection of wives—and they're not just any women."

A low murmur spread throughout the room as all eyes turned to her.

"Are you telling me that Javier... is married to a bunch of powerful women?" Maria Hill asked, raising an eyebrow. "And they're from space?"

Carol nodded, her expression more serious now. "Oh, yeah. And not just any women—big names. He's married Pietro Maximoff's sister, Wanda Maximoff, but that's just the beginning."

"Wait," Steve Rogers interjected, "Wanda Maximoff? You mean Scarlet Witch?"

"Exactly," Carol continued, "but that's not all. He's also married Gamora, Nebula, Mantis, Hela, and Valkyrie."

The name-dropping didn't end there. "Gamora is the adopted daughter of Thanos, Nebula is his sister, Mantis is Ego's daughter, and Hela is the daughter of Odin. Valkyrie, well, she's one of Asgard's finest warriors."

A shocked silence fell over the group as they processed the implications of what Carol had just revealed. The notion of Javier being involved with women like Wanda, who was not only one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe but also a member of the Maximoff bloodline, and the others—each one a figure of immense power in their own right—was a bombshell.

"Hold on," Tony said, his face slightly pale as the reality of the situation sank in. "You're telling me that Javier—our Javier—has married all of them? Thanos' adopted daughter, Odin's daughter, and the Asgardian warrior?"

Carol's smirk deepened. "Yup. And it's not just about love. They're all powerful in their own right, and Javier's alliances with them are no joke. None of them would be easy to take down, and they're all completely loyal to him."

"And to think," Natasha added with a sarcastic chuckle, "Javier has powerful backing from his father-in-law too. Thanos himself. That's a pretty terrifying thought."

Fury, who had been sitting silently at the head of the table, leaned forward, his usual stern expression replaced by something deeper. He was clearly processing the weight of the conversation. "So, not only does Javier have nearly unlimited financial resources and influence, but he's also surrounded by some of the most powerful beings in the universe—and he's married into the family of one of the most dangerous men in existence. Thanos."

Peggy Carter shook her head, her thoughts running a mile a minute. "That's a whole new level of power. And it's not just about who he's married to—this isn't some political marriage. He's got their loyalty, which is far more valuable."

Steve Rogers grimaced. "So, he's essentially untouchable."

"Not just untouchable," Fury muttered, his voice heavy with a certain finality. "Unstoppable."

Everyone around the table was silent for a moment, absorbing the sheer scale of what they were dealing with. Javier had built an empire—a family—around him that extended well beyond Earth's borders, one that was fortified by loyalty, power, and resources beyond their comprehension.

Tony, who had been unusually quiet during the last few exchanges, let out a deep breath and glanced at Carol. "Well, I guess that answers the question of whether or not he could ever run for president. If his family can back him the way they do, no wonder he's a global power."

Carol shrugged nonchalantly. "Exactly. The whispers aren't just happening here, either. They're happening across galaxies. He's building his own legacy. And no one can stop him."

"I'm not worried about the man becoming president," Tony said finally, his voice darkening. "I'm worried about what would happen if he ever decided to move against us, using all of that backing."

Fury stood up and addressed the room. "For now, we keep an eye on him. But make no mistake—Javier is one of the most dangerous individuals we've ever faced. And not just because of his abilities or his wealth, but because of the power he commands. If we're ever going to stop him, we need to be smarter than ever."

Everyone nodded in agreement, knowing that, in the end, defeating Javier wouldn't be about just strength or strategy—it would be about outsmarting someone who seemed to have every possible advantage.
