Chapter 1 - Him

It's rare I get to just lie down and watch the stars. It's rare for me to get a break from everything and everyone. The breeze gently blows against my skin sending a trail of goosebumps to appear on my skin. The sounds of owls, crickets, predators and possible prey creates a soothing melody.

I recognize the ragging sound of a river nearby.slowly I close my eyes letting the sounds whisk me away to a place beyond my imagination. If a predator were to arrive at this moment, chances of me scaling up a tree before I get attacked are not in my favor.

At

Suddenly, I open my eyes not because of the predators but because of the unmistakable click of a weapon behind me. Second nature. Instinct. I jump up releasing my claws and fangs, although I know the odds are not in my favor. Sea green eyes search the inner depths of my soul and messy dark brown hair flows to the rhythm of the breeze. Beautiful.

He slowly pushes my claws away from his face. "Don't hurt the face…"I can't argue that he's isn't one of the most stunning and sensuous people on the planet. Tall, athletic, golden skin ,broad shoulders and a perfect posture. No one could resist that except me that is. For some reason, I smile and put down my hands letting the claws, canines, ears and tail sink back in.

"Bug off ." I sit back onto the ground and he sits beside me slowly. What is so hard to understand about the words 'bug off '. "Your instinct is doing well these days?" I nod. I'm really not in the mood for conversation at the moment. "Are you fully healed?" I nod again.

I know he can tell I'm not in the mood for but he still tries to bring me to conversation. "Did you finish the essay?" I turn to him raising a brow. "Are you seriously trying to talk homework with me?" He shrugs and smiles slightly. "At least I got your attention." I smile. He always had a way to cheer me up.
