Chapter 28 - Silent truth

"In every truth, there is a secret, and in every secret, lies a destiny."

In one of the church's corners, the high-ranking leaders gather to discuss the worsening situation. The dim lights in the room add to the tense atmosphere. One of the members begins to speak, saying:

"The mercenaries of Flame Arc, that strong and famous group led by Arman, are growing more powerful each day. Although they were assigned specific tasks, they are not sticking to them as they should. Instead, they are meddling in our affairs and going ahead with fighting our allies. They've defeated several of our allies behind the great wall. While they are not as strong as they seem, their actions could harm us."

Another member adds nervously:

"But what's even more concerning are those crystal seeds we feed the monsters.

It seems that they also started noticing her

At this moment, everyone turns to Caligula, who is leading the meeting. He closes his eyes for a moment and then opens them, saying:

"You all know the situation well. But we must be careful when dealing with Larius. He may seem like just a child, but you're mistaken about him. He's more difficult than you think. You believe that eliminating him will be easy, but that idea may harm us more than help."

One member quickly responds:

"But what about the plan to send a squad of Cursed Warriors? Perhaps that's the best way to get rid of him."

Caligula smiles slightly and says cautiously:

"The Cursed Warriors are not the best solution here. This time, it's not that simple. If we make a mistake in dealing with this child, we may face consequences we can't undo."

Chapter: A Meeting in Arman's Tent

In one of the camps of the Flame Arch Mercenaries, Larious entered the tent of their leader, Arman. Arman was sitting on a wooden chair, looking through some scattered papers. Larious observed him with curious eyes, trying to understand what he wanted from him.

"What do you want with me?" asked Larious calmly as he looked around the tent.

Arman looked up and smiled. "I just want to discuss a few matters, Larious," he replied simply before continuing to organize the papers on the table.

"Is this about my fighting? Or is there something else?" Larious asked with an inquiring tone.

Arman smiled lightly and replied, "You're just a kid, who escaped from one of the powerful kingdoms behind the wall, Kingdom Atilda. From what I've heard, the king there wants your head, claiming that you carry a wicked, demonic soul."

Larious was surprised that Arman knew about this, but he quickly composed himself, knowing that this day would come eventually. "How did you know about this?" he asked calmly, pretending to be surprised.

"I only heard about it from one of the soldiers. But anyway, kid, you need to hide yourself well when you return to that kingdom. They're the ones funding us, especially a family there."

Larious paused for a moment, thinking about the revelation. The Flame Arch Mercenaries serving Kingdom Atilda? That was new to him. He then asked, "I didn't know you served Kingdom Atilda. Is there a reason for that?"

Arman focused on the papers before him and answered, "Yes, there are two reasons for bringing you into our mercenaries. The first is that you proved yourself in battle against the Night Fang Gang. Your swordsmanship, especially your Flame Sword, which you're continuing to develop, was impressive."

He then sighed before continuing, "The second reason is the symbol you carry on your bracelet. I've seen it before. It's a very strange symbol, and I can't forget it. And you, Larious, know exactly what it means."

Larious glanced at the bracelet on his wrist, where the strange symbol was engraved. He knew very well what it meant. It was a symbol associated with Faera, the power he carried within him. He knew that this symbol wasn't just a regular one; it was a sign of an ancient bloodline connected to Faera, the intense light force.

"I know what it means, and I fully understand its connection to Faera," said Larious calmly but firmly. "This isn't just a regular symbol. It's part of my bloodline."

Arman looked at Larious with curiosity. "It's really something rare. That power... Faera... will have significance in the future. And it could be crucial for what lies ahead."

"But what if this is all part of a bigger plan?" Larious asked.

Arman replied in a mysterious tone, "Yes, perhaps this is the beginning of something much larger. Kingdom Atilda needs warriors like you. And in time, you'll understand why you're here. But for now, you must stay cautious. Everyone is watching you."

Larious nodded his head, feeling tense from Arman's words, but he also knew there was no turning back. He was ready to face whatever would come his way.

"I'll be ready," Larious said as he left the tent, feeling a mix of challenge and anxiety. Now, he knew he held in his hands a part of a power that could change the course of events in the future.
