Chapter 118
"China?" Natasha asked, surprised and confused. "Why China all of a sudden? Besides... it would take about 16 hours to get there by plane."
"Yes, there is something I want to show you. Don't worry, it's nothing bad." He reassured her with a smile and left the room without saying anything else.
Even though he told her not to worry, she couldn't help but wonder what he had to show her that was so important. Besides... it didn't have to be tonight of all times.
With a soft sigh, she came down from the bed and headed to her room to take a bath. Minutes later, she stepped out, a towel wrapped around her body, her blond hair damp with water.
It was then that she noticed a packaged box on the bed. Her curiosity peaked as she approached it, and when she opened the box, her eyes sparkled at its contents.
Inside was a dress, a sparkly blue dress. Her fingers slowly traced the patterns as she admired the beauty, and then she raised the gown to take a good look. Her jaw dropped.
The dress was a sleek, floor-length gown with a low-cut back and a form-fitting design. It was light blue with shimmering gold accents that spread out like feathers. The lower part of the dress was decorated with a striking peacock feather pattern in blue, green, and gold, adding elegance and flair. This was absolutely the most beautiful dress she had ever seen.
An excited smile curved on her lips. Did Drogen get this for her? Was she supposed to wear this tonight? Her eyes trailed back to the box, and she noticed another tiny box inside. She dropped the dress on the bed and picked up the box, slowly opening it. A shiny blue light sparkled from the jewelry as she opened it.
It was a shimmering diamond and silver necklace, sparkly and heavenly beautiful. Earrings sat carefully just beside the necklace. Natasha couldn't control the heat that crept up her cheeks. This wasn't the first time he had bought something nice for her, but this time felt different.
He must have gone through extra lengths to select something this beautiful and expensive. Just as she moved closer to the bed to pick up the dress, her leg hit another box on the floor.
She looked down and crouched to open the box. Inside were heels—shiny silver heels decorated with shining diamond stones. Just how much did he spend on these? she thought silently.
Natasha didn't want to get dressed yet since she hadn't eaten; she didn't want to accidentally spill food on this masterpiece. So, she settled for her bathrobe instead after applying body lotion that left her smelling like lavender and roses.
Minutes later, she stepped out, her hair now dry, a bathrobe wrapped around her body. She didn't find Drogen in the dining room, but she heard the sound of a shower, which meant he had gone to shower. Hmm... always showering, huh?
She sat at the table and began eating, and just as always, his food tasted amazing. They still hadn't been able to do the cooking competition they talked about a few months back. That was definitely on her bucket list, one of the memories she wanted to create with him.
She had written a bucket list a few days back, all the things she wanted to do together with him within 10 days, and there was one major thing in there that he wasn't aware of yet.
She rushed through her food; she couldn't contain her excitement and curiosity. China was one of the most amazing countries she had always wanted to visit—who wouldn't be excited for something like this?
After she was done eating, she gathered the dishes and headed to the kitchen, where she washed them quickly. She hadn't felt this pumped up and excited in a while.
After she was done, she rushed back to her room and closed the door behind her—time to wear those masterpieces.
Drogen had already gotten dressed. He settled for black trousers, a white turtleneck shirt, and a black coat to top it off. He styled his hair differently this time, letting a few strands fall to his face, giving him a less intimidating look. He spritzed some cologne, and after doing a final check, he exhaled deeply and stepped out of his room.
Natasha hadn't come out yet, but from the empty dining table, he could tell she had already eaten dinner. He sat on the cushion, waiting patiently. He wanted to see her only after she was completely dressed.
He could already imagine how damn beautiful she would look in that dress. His feet tapped on the floor, nervously and impatiently. He looked down at his watch several times—time was ticking.
Just when he stood up to go check on her, the door clicked and slowly opened. Drogen held his breath, and when his eyes finally saw her, he stiffened.
She was absolutely breathtaking, like an angel. She looked a hundred times better than he expected; she looked... ethereal, she was perfection.
Natasha blushed lightly, her heart racing. She smiled shyly as she slowly approached him. "How do I look?" she asked quietly.
As she came closer, her scent filled his nostrils— that scent he loved so much. Natasha breathed shakily. Why was she so nervous? It wasn't a wedding or something—nothing to get nervous about.
She slowly raised her head to look at him, and she stopped in her tracks as soon as her gaze fell on Drogen.
How could a change of hairstyle make someone look so different? He looked even more attractive than usual. His hair let down made him look less intimidating—he looked so human.
She couldn't help the smile that crept up her lips, and the butterflies swarming her stomach at that moment.
Drogen approached her, and his hands found her waist, drawing her closer to him.
"If I didn't have plans for tonight... or if I wasn't worried about wrecking that perfect lipstick, heaven knows I'd have you trembling under me, begging for more all night, Nat."
