Drogen's pupils dilated, his eyes widening in shock. If anyone had said those words to him, he wouldn't have felt a damn thing.

But hearing them from her felt like his soul was being ripped apart. At that moment, his previously warm and pleading eyes instantly turned cold. It was like she had killed that last sprouting emotion in his heart. "If that is how you truly feel about me, then I won't stop you from leaving. A monster like me doesn't deserve someone like you. You're free to leave."

Natasha's heart clenched. Wasn't this what she wanted? For him to let her go? But why did it feel like her heart was being torn to shreds? Tears spilled out of her eyes, but she quickly wiped them away, trying to hide her weakness.

She rushed out of the company's building, her emotions in total chaos, her head throbbing with pain—not physical but emotional pain. She never expected that loving someone could be amazing and also painfully excruciating.
