"You say Gracie? Which Gracie?" Natasha asked, her eyes tearing and her voice trembling as her rage bubbled up.
"Now that I think about it, I've seen you two together before," he said, his tone disturbingly cheerful. Then, with a glint of excitement in his eyes and an ugly grin revealing his teeth, he added, "And the place where I killed her? It's the same company you work at, isn't it?"
Natasha felt as though her soul was being ripped apart. When the police investigated Gracie's death, they came up empty-handed—no fingerprints, no footage from security cameras, and no evidence suggesting it could have been a suicide. With nothing to go on, the case was ultimately labeled a cold case and closed.
