Chapter 4 - Chapter 3: The Chase for Asha

The Demon Hunter Headquarters in the heart of Nyemba was a fortress buzzing with urgency. The walls, lined with ancient artifacts and powerful talismans, seemed to hum with anticipation. Within, the leaders of Nyemba's finest stood in tense silence, their attention focused on the urgent message coming through on the communicator. It was Tidiane, breathless and grave.

"A man named Zaria…" Tidiane's voice crackled through. "A former demon hunter, but now an enemy of the kingdom. He's after something called the Great Blessing—something said to rival the Moonstone itself."

A ripple of shock ran through the room. The Great Blessing had long been whispered of in legends, but few believed it truly existed. The hunters exchanged glances, unease filling their hearts. Hidi, their leader, a seasoned hunter with a gaze as sharp as a hawk's, tightened his grip on the hilt of his sword.

"We need to understand Zaria's motives," Hidi demanded. "Why has he resurfaced after all these years?"

Tidiane's reply was edged with urgency. "I can only tell you this: he's stronger than any of us could have imagined. We have to be ready for anything."

In the quiet that followed, Tendaji stood in the back, a steady force among the murmuring hunters. He was the most respected of them all, his courage and skill legendary. Hearing Tidiane's warning, he strode forward with purpose, his expression unreadable but resolute.

"We don't have time to waste," Tendaji said, his voice carrying through the room. "I'll face him myself."

Without waiting for orders, he turned and made his way to the armory, donning his demon hunter cloak, its dark fabric shimmering faintly with protective spells. He fastened his weapons—a pair of blades infused with his own Zowa energy—and gripped the hilt, feeling the familiar surge of strength flow through him. He was ready.

Nearby, Hashaan, the most gifted sensor among the hunters, closed his eyes, activating his sensory Zowa. His power was unparalleled when it came to tracking; he could sense even the faintest trace of Zowa across vast distances. Hashaan's brow furrowed as he reached out, searching for the trail of energy left by Zaria.

After a tense moment, his eyes snapped open. "He's headed toward the northern outskirts, near the forest. And… he's not alone."

Hidi's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"

"There's… a child with him. I think it's Asha."

A gasp swept through the room. Asha, Tendaji's son, had been kidnapped. The blood drained from Tendaji's face, but he remained silent, every fiber of his being focused on the task at hand. In his mind, images of his son's bright eyes and infectious laughter flashed, fueling his determination.

"He won't get away," Tendaji vowed, his voice a cold promise. Without another word, he sprinted out of the headquarters, his form a blur as he unleashed his full speed, his Zowa leaving a trail of light in his wake.

**In the Skies Above Nyemba**

Zaria soared through the sky, his red Zowa blazing around him like a comet. In his grip, Asha struggled, but the child was no match for the immense power holding him captive. Below them, the sprawling kingdom of Nyemba grew smaller, fading into the horizon as Zaria sped away.

"Let me go!" Asha shouted, his voice defiant even in the face of danger.

Zaria looked down, a twisted smile playing on his lips. "You don't understand, child. You carry a power that most can only dream of. The Great Blessing—hidden within you, lying dormant. You're more valuable than you know."

Asha's mind whirled with confusion and fear, but he clung to one truth—his father would come for him. Tendaji had always been there, a protector, a hero in his young eyes. He fought to keep his terror in check, his small fists clenched with resolve.

**The Chase**

Tendaji raced across the kingdom, his heart a storm of emotions. Fear, anger, and determination wove together, driving him forward with blinding speed. As he neared the outskirts, he sensed Hashaan's Zowa guiding him, a faint line of energy pulling him closer to Zaria's trail.

The landscape flew past him—a blur of trees, rivers, and rocky outcrops—yet he was unrelenting. His thoughts centered on one thing: bringing his son back safely.

Suddenly, Tendaji felt a surge of energy above him. He looked up to see a red light streaking through the sky, a cruel beacon marking Zaria's path. Tendaji's Zowa flared around him, his aura intensifying as he pushed his speed even further. He wouldn't let Zaria escape.

**A Battle in the Skies**

Zaria glanced back, sensing Tendaji's approach. His smirk faded, replaced by a glint of interest. He slowed, hovering in midair, waiting. With a burst of silver light, Tendaji ascended, his Zowa carrying him into the sky to face Zaria directly.

"Tendaji," Zaria greeted, his voice dripping with mockery. "I expected you'd come. Brave, but foolish."

"Release my son, Zaria," Tendaji's voice was a command, cold and unwavering. "Or I'll end you here and now."

Zaria chuckled, holding Asha close as he taunted Tendaji. "Your son possesses something far greater than you realize. Why waste such power?"

"Because it's not yours to take!" Tendaji roared, lunging forward. His blade gleamed in the light as he swung, aiming straight for Zaria's heart.

But Zaria was swift, spinning in midair to avoid the strike. He released Asha for a brief moment, creating a barrier of red Zowa to separate him from Tendaji, then twisted back with a counterattack of his own. Tendaji parried, his blade meeting Zaria's energy with a resounding clash that echoed across the skies.

Asha fell through the air, tumbling downward, but Tendaji reached out, his Zowa forming a protective cocoon that caught his son and gently lowered him to the ground.

"Stay back, Asha!" Tendaji shouted, his voice filled with both love and urgency.

On the ground, Asha watched, awe-struck and fearful, as the battle raged above him. Zaria's strikes were relentless, each one laced with deadly intent, but Tendaji met each blow with unwavering determination.

"You think you can protect him forever?" Zaria sneered, his face twisted with dark delight. "This power will consume him, one way or another."

Tendaji's response was a fierce strike, his blade cutting through Zaria's barrier, pushing him back. "I will protect my son from anything, even monsters like you."

They clashed again and again, their Zowa lighting up the sky, creating bursts of red and silver that illuminated the landscape below. Tendaji's strength was formidable, but he could feel Zaria's power surging with every attack, relentless and overwhelming. He couldn't let this fight drag on—he had to end it, here and now.

With a final, desperate surge of energy, Tendaji charged forward, pouring every ounce of his Zowa into his blade. The sky seemed to crackle and hum with the force of his attack as he swung with deadly precision, aiming for Zaria's core.

Zaria barely managed to evade, but the sheer force of the blow sent him reeling, his red aura flickering as he struggled to regain control. For the first time, there was a hint of uncertainty in his eyes.

Tendaji seized the moment. "This is your last chance, Zaria. Leave now, or face the consequences."

Zaria snarled, his gaze filled with hatred. But he knew he was at a disadvantage. With a final, hateful glare, he retreated, disappearing into the clouds, his crimson light fading into the distance.

Tendaji descended, his Zowa dimming as he reached the ground. Asha ran to him, tears in his eyes, but a smile of relief on his face.

"Father!" Asha cried, hugging him tightly.

Tendaji knelt, wrapping his arms around his son. "I'm here, Asha. You're safe now."

But as they embraced, Tendaji's mind was clouded with a sense of unease. Zaria had spoken of the Great Blessing, and his return meant that their kingdom was under a threat greater than he'd ever imagined.

This was only the beginning.
