Chapter 45: Only You Deserve to Become the Fifth Mizukage!

"No need to thank me!"

Uchiha Yi waved dismissively, smiling with satisfaction, embodying the qualities of a modern, exemplary youth: helping others selflessly without expecting anything in return.

Uchiha Obito's face turned green, but he held back his anger and forced a smile. The atmosphere seemed harmonious, almost brotherly.

To an outsider, the two looked like they were catching up as close siblings, happily bonding.

"Senior Yi, I have other matters to attend to. I'll take my leave now!"

Unable to endure the situation any longer, Obito excused himself abruptly, not waiting for Yi's reaction. His body flickered and vanished, giving off a distinct impression of someone fleeing in panic.

After all, Obito could clearly see that Yi was a petty troublemaker!

Back when they first met in the Akatsuki, Obito had merely startled Yi as a joke. Who would've thought Yi would hold a grudge?

Now, this guy had the audacity to insult and humiliate him outright.

Unforgivable!

Once this guy outlives his usefulness, he'll be the first to go!

Obito clenched his fists in silent rage. Petty? Maybe. But anyone who crossed him never had a happy ending.

Yet, was there any need for Yi to fear him now?

Opening the system interface, Yi glanced at his progress: the counter had already reached 1,500 points.

The sheer sense of security this number brought filled him with confidence.

For now, though, there was no time to ponder how to spend these "points." His shadow clone had just delivered urgent news.

---

The Kaguya Clan had launched a daring raid on the Hidden Mist's prison, freeing their leader, Kaguya Shika.

With his escape, Kaguya Shika found himself with no other option but to take the helm of a rebellion, embracing his role as the Hidden Mist's Liu Bang.

The oppressed citizens of the Hidden Mist, who had long suffered under the Fourth Mizukage's tyranny, saw him as their savior.

"Today, I shall overthrow the cruel reign of Yagura and end the Blood Mist era once and for all!"

Kaguya Shika, while not the sharpest tool in the shed, was at least smart enough to understand that the Kaguya Clan alone lacked the strength to succeed.

He knew the rebellion's odds would improve dramatically if he could unite those discontent with the current regime.

---

Standing atop a high platform, Kaguya Shika raised his voice, rallying others to his cause.

Unexpectedly, many from the Hidden Mist responded. People were eager to join his faction and oppose Yagura's brutal rule.

For a brief moment, Shika was filled with bold ambition, convinced that the position of Mizukage was already within his grasp.

---

However, his growing influence also alarmed other clans who had hoped to stay neutral.

Many had endured Yagura's tyranny but were unwilling to see someone like Shika—a man whose entire clan was infamous for their short tempers and impulsive actions—seize power.

Even though these clans despised the Fourth Mizukage, they feared the chaos the Kaguya Clan might bring.

But as the rebellion grew, neutrality became impossible. Their only hope was to rally behind someone else: a person respected across all factions, someone who could unite the Hidden Mist.

---

That someone was none other than Elder Genshi.

---

In a hidden stronghold, several prominent young shinobi of the Hidden Mist had gathered. Among them were Mei Terumi, Ao, Chojuro, and Mangetsu Hozuki.

"Elder Genshi, what do we do now?"

"If this continues, the Hidden Mist will be destroyed!"

Mei Terumi's voice was filled with urgency. She had long dreamed of a prosperous and peaceful village, but reality had taken a darker turn.

Now, the Hidden Mist was fractured into three factions. On the surface, there seemed to be a balance, but everyone knew it was only a matter of time before all-out war erupted.

She had no choice but to pin her hopes on Genshi, the venerable elder whose wisdom and reputation were unparalleled.

"Elder Genshi, please say something! If Kaguya Shika strikes first, it will be too late to stop him!" Mei pleaded.

---

"Ah, Mei, you young people are really exhausting me," Genshi sighed deeply, shaking his head.

"Let this old man live in peace, won't you?"

"You'll live in peace once this chaos is resolved!" Mei countered, her determination unwavering.

"I promise that once this is over, I'll dedicate myself to ensuring the Hidden Mist never falls into such turmoil again."

---

"Very well, Mei. Since you're so determined, I have something to say."

"Mei Terumi, you are the only one qualified to become the Fifth Mizukage."

"W-what? Me?" Mei stammered, caught completely off guard. She had never expected Genshi to say such a thing.

"Of course," Genshi replied. "Only you have the intelligence, strength, and character to lead the Hidden Mist into a brighter future. Who else could it be?"

---

"Elder Genshi is absolutely right!" Ao added firmly.

"If it's not you, Mei, then who? The Kaguya Clan? Don't make me laugh."

"Exactly, Mei! You're the best candidate," Mangetsu Hozuki chimed in with a grin.

"Just promise me one thing: when you become Mizukage, help me secure a spot in the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, okay?"

"You guys…" Mei's eyes welled up with emotion as her comrades voiced their support.

---

"Now do you understand, Mei?" Genshi said, his wrinkled face softening with a kind smile.

"Your comrades trust you. You have what it takes to lead."

"Will you accept this responsibility?"

---

Mei took a deep breath, her resolve hardening.

"If everyone believes in me, then I won't let them down!"

"I will become the Fifth Mizukage!"
