Chapter 52: Because You Didn't Save Rin!

"Okay!"

Uchiha Obito said through gritted teeth.

With Kakashi in Uchiha Yi's hands, even with the powers of Kamui's dimensional space, there was no way Obito could save Kakashi at such close range.

He had already tested it—Kamui's abilities couldn't harm Uchiha Yi. Obito had no idea how Ah Huo had managed this. Furthermore, he had to maintain his disguise as Tobi. To make matters worse, Uchiha Yi's displayed strength wasn't just formidable—it was terrifying.

For all these reasons, Obito had no choice but to compromise.

It seems I need to reevaluate Ah Huo, Obito thought grimly as he reluctantly took out the trade items.

As he handed them over to Uchiha Yi, he felt as if his heart was bleeding.

"Thief hahaha!" Uchiha Yi laughed wildly as he accepted the items, sounding like a certain Blackbeard.

"Thank you, my dear brother, Ah Fei, for this!" he exclaimed gleefully.

With a casual wave, Uchiha Yi unleashed the Void Devouring Flame on the corpses of a hundred White Zetsu.

"This is so fun!" he exclaimed, almost euphoric. "Only this kind of thing feels like real burning! By the way, my dear brother Ah Fei, do you have any more of these White Zetsu bodies? Give me some more! A hundred isn't enough!"

Looking at Ah Huo acting like a maniac, Obito began to reconsider his initial suspicions that Ah Huo might know White Zetsu's secrets. Now, Obito wasn't so sure.

This guy must have a screw loose, he thought. Why would any normal person burn White Zetsu with Amaterasu for fun?

"No! Don't even think about it!" Obito shook his head firmly, refusing the absurd request.

"Really?" Uchiha Yi sighed in mock disappointment. "What a pity! If you find more in the future, let me know."

Satisfied with his loot, Uchiha Yi decided there was no reason to linger. After he left, Obito breathed a sigh of relief. Dealing with Uchiha Yi was nothing short of torturous.

Even though Obito was furious at how Uchiha Yi had toyed with him, he couldn't even vent his anger properly.

Is there no justice in this world? Obito thought bitterly. I'll have to find a way to get back at him later.

For now, Obito turned his attention to the dark, bald version of Kakashi lying in front of him. Kakashi looked utterly ridiculous—so much so that Obito almost laughed out loud.

Fortunately, he restrained himself at the last moment. However, Kakashi's next words made his heart skip a beat.

"Obito, it's you!" Kakashi said, his tone serious but certain.

"What?" Obito froze, his voice trembling.

"I know it's you!" Kakashi continued, ignoring Obito's reaction. "When I saw you fumbling for excuses earlier, you were just as clumsy as before. I recognized you right away!"

Obito's composure shattered. His worst fear had come true—his identity as Tobi was exposed. He could only stare at Kakashi, his lips trembling, unable to speak.

"It's you!" Kakashi repeated. "If you're still alive, why did you wait until now to show yourself? Why didn't you come back?"

Obito lowered his head in silence. Slowly, he removed his mask, revealing his scarred face. The frivolity from earlier disappeared, replaced by cold detachment.

"It doesn't matter whether I'm alive or not," Obito said flatly. "If you insist on a reason... it's because you didn't save Rin from dying!" His voice grew sharp and bitter. "I have no interest in this world anymore. There's nothing left to say."

With those words, Obito turned away, activating Kamui. He vanished without a second glance.

Kakashi was left standing there, stunned. He had spent so much effort searching for Obito, only to be met with rejection and confusion.

Obito… What exactly happened to you? Kakashi thought. At such a close distance, he could feel the overwhelming darkness emanating from Obito—a darkness that seemed to reject any trace of light.

"I need to know what happened to him," Kakashi whispered, clenching his fists. But he knew there was nothing he could do. If Obito didn't want to talk, Kakashi had no way of forcing him.

"Well," Kakashi sighed. "That's it for now." At least he knew Obito was alive. That was something. He resolved to pull Obito out of the darkness, no matter what it took.

Meanwhile, Uchiha Yi secretly returned after delivering the traded items to his main body. Hidden among the flames of Amaterasu consuming White Zetsu, he watched Obito's interaction with Kakashi.

However, Obito's calm demeanor surprised him.

This isn't like Obito at all, Uchiha Yi thought, frowning. Is this some kind of act?

After a brief exchange of words, Obito fled.

"This is ridiculous!" Uchiha Yi muttered. "Obito didn't even fight Kakashi! That doesn't make sense!"

Elsewhere, in the Hidden Mist Village, Genshin risked his life to lure the Three-Tails, Isobu, into a sealing formation. The entire village worked together to seal the beast, successfully returning it to Yagura's body.

However, the cost was devastating. The village was reduced to rubble, with heavy casualties leaving the survivors unsure whether to celebrate or mourn.

Kaguya, claiming credit for the victory, declared herself the Fifth Mizukage. Naturally, Genshin's faction refused to accept this.

What remained of the village erupted into another round of infighting. In the end, Genshin's forces won a pyrrhic victory, finally putting an end to the chaos.
