The morning sun cast through the trees, spring was in the air and the crimson trees were blooming. A boy reads a book by the table, his golden eyes flowing with the words and his long black hair tied in a ponytail.
'I'm officially two years old now, oh yeah. I can crawl now baby!! I have figured out most of this world's language, and can read simple words. I also completed about two books in Hanzo's study.'
As he turns to the next page of the book, a woman's voice rings from the kitchen.
"Kai~ Can you please put away the book and finish eating?"
"Owkei~" the boy responded as obediently as he could. As he continued shoveling the food at a fast pace.
Loriell couldn't help but sigh.
"That boy…"
"He's talented, some may say a genius." Hanzo said as he passed Loriell.
A few hours passed as Kai was reading a book. Loriell was working in town, and Hanzo was outside. Suddenly something caught Kai's attention.
He head a loud enough 'swoosh' as if a great sword was being swung. Out of curiosity he went to investigate, and what he saw was Hanzo outside training.
His muscles were chiseled, his form was perfect and his martial arts looked destructive.
He then noticed Kai observing him. He immediately stopped training and went to the boy.
"It's great isn't it?" Hanzo said as he ruffled Kai's hair.
"That is a martial art known among the people of the abyss as 'The Crimson Destruction' arts, if you want to be able to do that, you need to unlock your Aether circuits, if you can make a little colored orb appear you will be able to do it."
"Wike thwis?" Kai summoned a red orb with relative ease, even though he was struggling in the beginning.
"Wha-!? Kai are you…."
'Uh oh, does he suspect me?" Kai thought as he gulped.
"... A genius!? I see… It all makes sense now!" Hanzo said as he examined the orb in Kai's hand.
…. A few hours later…
At the dinner table, the family of three were having their usual dinner, when Hanzo brought up the topic.
"Loriell, I think Kai is ready to learn Aether and Combat arts."
Immediately Loriell looked at him in confusion.
"And why do you think that?" She asked.
"Today, while I was training, I saw him observing me, and when I demonstrated how to summon an orb of Aether energy to him, he imitated it and got it right on the first try." He tried to explain.
"I get your point, but isn't that a bit too dangerous right now?" She asked.
"Yeah you're right." Hanzo gave in.
"As a compromise just give him three more years, after that he can start training."
'Wow, they're deciding this without my consent… I guess that's normal here' Kai thought to himself.
And so, for the next three years, Kai lived as a normal child.
