Chapter 33 - Flesh, Eyes and Stone

The third Floor was very straight forward. They just needed to fight and win.

But beating the monster that stood in front of them, would come out as rather hard.

The creature was huge, absurdly so, maybe reaching up to 15 meters.

The group stood frozen for a second, looking up at the massive creature before them. Its body a combination of pulsing flesh and pillars out of stone.

It looked like it wasn't intended to be born, the red flesh throbbing and an armor of atone around it. The armor wasn't perfect, also the reason why the cohort could see under it.

As the Creature noticed them, dozens of of small eyes pushed out of the flesh, all of them watching the cohort.

"God, it's ugly.", muttered Celeste before holding a Staff memory up, which she had gotten on their small journey in the white dessert.

The Creature let out a deep, rumbling growl, the kind that they could feel in their bones. It's eyes blinked quickly, as a weird substance flowed out of them. Was the Creature crying ?

For a moment, nothing happened, as the grotesque image scared the cohort off.

But then, the huge creature moved it's arms, pillar-like things making their way to the cohort with unbelievable speed.

"MOVE!", yelled Ragna, as he jumped into the air, avoiding the attack in the last second.

(Cera, use Blood Sacrifice. Quickly !)

As Ragna felt every aspect of his body strengthen about 50%, he also used his Aspect Ability to augment his whole body, his two cores strengthening him about another 300%.

He was stronger than any Sleeper should ever be, now probably even being able to take Awakened, maybe even weak ascended if he had time to prepare.

Ragnas body flashed through the air, as he also saw a black liquid land on its body, which was of course the Aspect Ability of Layla, which had weakened the Creature physically.

In a blink of a second, he appeared right in front of the Creature, already moving his sword between the small holes of the stone armor.

In the last moment, he changed his augmentation from his body, to his sword, making it pierce the flesh with easy, the blood slash that followed doing even more damage.

The massive Creature, now enraged Creature, swung one of its massive arms at Ragna.

He didn't have time to pull out his sword before he would get hit, so he abandoned it and jumped over it again, landing on the arm and being carried a few meters.

It would take a few seconds for him to recall and manifest his blade again, so he needed to fight more passive for now.

As the Creatures arm slowed down. Ragna jumped off, now being behind the large Creature.

He saw his teammates fighting the Nightmare Beast on the other side of the room.

'How did that bastard not die from the wound I gave it ?

Ragna got frustrated at the thought of the Creature not taking considerable damage after he had used his full power and attacked the weakened state of the monster.

'He Creature isn't seeing me. I should use this chance to give it a deeper wound.'

As Ragna charged forward again, his sword tightly in his grasp, he thrust it deep inside the throbbing flesh.

As the Creatures arm slowed screamed, he pulled his sword out of its flesh before plunging it back inside the same spot. With every thrust, the wound deepened, especially because of the blood slashed that followed.

Because of the Creatures size, and the constant attacks from the other side, it struggled to turn around to face Ragna.

Now, unable to thrust his Sword any deeper, he started moving it to the side, slicing off big chunks of Flesh in one go.

The Creature cried out in agony, its voice echoing through the room as pieces of its flesh were being carved away by Ragna.

And this wasn't the only source of pain it felt. From the front, it's flesh was pierced by blood, crushed under huge pressure and sliced with a sword again.

Yes, the Creature was strong and huge, but it also struggled to move because of its weird body.

But then, the wounds on its body releasing a green fog. And suddenly, new flesh started to appear on the places it was cut off.

'He can regenerate ?!'

As Rana pulled the Mirrorblade out, Ragna decided to run around the Creature, and appear back at the other side, where the cohort was fighting the Creature.

"That Bastard can regenerate ! We need to do something different."

As the others clicked their tounge because of the new information, Ragna rejoined the group.

"We either need to kill with one strong strike in a weak spot, or slice him up so fast that he can't regenerate."

"I think we should go with the first option. We should go for its heart or brain !"

They had little time to act, as it swung another of its massive arms at the cohort. Everyone avoided it in some way, Cera having it the easies since she could just fly.

Celeste dashed forward, jumping and climbing up its body. Her mission was to destroy the stone around the Creatures head.

As she made her way up, the Creature was unable to hit Celeste because of its agility. When she arrived, she put her hands next to its armored head, and started crushing it with gravity, cracks appearing on the stone, as the head was also getting squished slightly.

As the helmet got destroyed, Celeste jumped back down, since she had no good Weapon Memory, meaning that she had the weakest direct attack power.

But because of her gravity, she was also the only one who could destroy the magical stone-like armor it had around its body.

Its head looked even more ugly and grotesque. It was basically just a pulsing ball of red flesh, dozen of eyes still releasing a weird liquid.

While Layla used her ink to weaken the Creature again, and Cera just attacked the Creature on random places, Ragna ran up its body, just like how Celeste did before.

Ragna felt the grotesque body squish slightly under his boots, as he got closer and closer to the now vulnerable head.

As he neared the pulsing ball of flesh, Ragna focused every cell he had on one task.

'Kill it, pierce its brain. Kill.'

Ragna also felt his body getting stronger again, probably because of Cera who sacrificed more blood.

The Creature, feeling its impending doom, let out a loud growl, trying to throw Ragna off his body, but he just moved on, his body flashing through the air, as he arrived on the Creatures neck.

With a swift leap, Ragna jumped up and landed on the Creatures head.

He got into position, holding his weapon with both hands and making it point down.

He then moved his augmentation from his body to the sword, and them fought of Caspian, to make him get angered and strengthen his Sword with the Emotional Blade Attribute.

This was the strongest Ragna could possibly get. If this didn't work, nothing would.

The Creature shook its head wildly, trying to throw Ragna off, but nothing worked.

As he plunged his Blade into the Creatures head, cutting through it like butter, he quickly reached the brain, also piercing it instantly, and killing it on the spot.

As the Creatures body went limp, and Ragna felt the blood of the Creature splash onto him, he heard a quiet whisper.

[You have slain an Fallen Demon, Pillar of Flesh]

Ragna exhaled in relief, before jumping off the Creatures body, but there was one more thing he had heard.

[You have received a Memory ...]
