Chereads / Shadow Slave: Bloodborne / Chapter 15 - Blood egg

Chapter 15 - Blood egg

Ragna and Layla spend around two days resting on the white pearl mountain. As Ragna expected, no creature dared to go up there so they could finally really relax for a while.

But they weren't here to only rest, they needed to continue, to kill beasts and grow stronger while also increasing their Memories number.

Maybe getting one or two Echoes in that time would also be nice but Ragna didn't really have hope for that since Echoes were unbelievably rare to obtain.

While Layla ate from her fruit Memory and then gave some of her blood to Ragna, they decided to trail down the Mountain and finally get moving again.

Now standing on the white, pear colored sand, they just moved forward cautiously. This place was way more dangerous then the dessert outside of the dark veil that towered over this place.

Taken as a prisoner ... that's what Celeste was right now. When she arrived in the Dream Realm she landed very far in the north, right where the villages and cities of the pixies and fairies were. They weren't really hostile creatures since they were smarter than a beast should be but they defenitely weren't friendly.

When Celeste first arrived they told her to leave, giving her a chance but because of Celeste's naturally teasing and confident personality, she angered the creatures and made them put her in their makeshift Jail.

Celeste could pretty easily break out of it with her gravity powers but outside were dozen, no, hundreds of fairies, which were mostly all awakened so fighting them all would've been suicide.

Celeste sighed.

'How long have I been in here by now ? Maybe around 2 months ? I've been waiting for an opportunity to escape but nothing worth mentioning has happened yet.'

Well, that was about to change since Celeste suddenly heard screams, growling and sounds of fighting outside.

'Is the village getting attacked ? ... a chance like this won't appear again, i need to escape.'

Celeste put a gravitational aura that pushed outwards around her and walked against the hard steel walls, slowly putting pressure on them, making them bend and then break into a hole. Celeste crawled out and then looked around. The villages was indeed getting attacked. The whole village was burning down as fairies were fighting something that looked akin to a hellhound.

She turned around and then ran off into the other direction, walking south.

Layla, Celeste and Ragna weren't the only people tho that landed in this area from the Dream Realm this winter solstice.

The publicly known genius boy, Caspian, from the house of night clan was here too. The boy who had gotten a True Name at his first Nightmare and was the next wave of hope after [Changing Star], known as Caspian or [Poseidon's Trident].

He landed more on the west side of this part, right were dozens of active volcanoes were located.

Since Caspian's Aspect was related to water, making him able to conjure it from nothingness, he had a really nice start. He had stuff to drink in a place like this and not many creatures walked around a place like this.

Sadly when Caspian met a creature in this place, they were normally from the stronger type. He was limping around right now, clutching his bleeding arm after an especially ferocious fight.

Just like the other 3 people that landed im this part of the Dream Realm, he walked south, him because of pure instincts.

***

Ragna and Layla were the furthest sound right now. And at this moment they were fighting an especially strong awakened monster.

It wasn't really the strongest but it was really fast, even faster than when Ragna solely augmented his feet with all of the blood he could manage right now.

Layla tried splashing ink on the creature but it was way too fast and targeting Ragna right now.

He followed the creature with his eyes but just in a second it suddenly arrived behind him and kicked him in the back, sending him flying.

Ragna spat out blood but turned around in the air and landed on his feet.

'That bastard is too fast. Trying to react wont work on him .... I need to read him before he moves and act on it.

Ragna, think. The creature likes running left from me and then either suddenly appears behind me with a kick or in front of me with a right hook. But how can I know what it does ... guessing won't work.'

The creature continued ignoring Layla and started running left from Ragna again.

'Analyze, analyze, you bastard.*

Just for a friction of a second, Ragna saw the creatures eyes go lower, looking at Ragna's belly before arriving in front of him and punching him in the gut before jumping back off again.

Ragna clenched his teeth because of the pain.

'His eyes.'

Ragna augmented his body so he could move faster as the Nightmare Creature started running again.

Ragna held his Mirrorblade thightly, staring into the beast's eyes. He saw the beast look behind Ragna so he wuickly turned around and slashed behind him and just then the creature appeared right where his sword way, its torso getting sliced in two and then falling onto the ground.

[You have slain an Awakened Monster, Speed O' Sand]

[You have spilled blood]

[Your Core grows stronger]

Ragna sat down on the pearl like sand and sighed of relief as the worried Layla approached.

"I-i'm so sorry. T-the creature ignored me a-and I couldn't do anything. It only attacked you. ... i was useless, again„

After saying that, Layla looked down, being ashamed for some reason.

"Layla, you aren't useless. You've been very helpful actually. Just because the creature ignored you and only fought me doesn't mean you are useless so stop looking at the ground and just take the bad feelings as motivation to grow stronger."

Ragna put a reassuring hand on Layla's shoulder, feeling the tension in her frame.

"We'll face tougher creatures in the future and that's when we'll need eachother.

Layla nodded, though still avoiding his eyes.

After resting for a while. they stood up and dusted off their clothes. They couldn't afford staying in the same place for a longer period.

Far ahead were more beasts, blood to be spilled and opportunities to grow stronger.

As they continued south, things slowly started to change inside of the Dream Realm. The factions of sleepers that came from older solstices were preparing one final, full force push to beat the Fallen Devil protecting the Waypoint. Maybe like 400 men were also in the same place with white pearly sand that Ragna and Layla were in, far away from them tho.

The Men were all standing in front of a huge glass tower, one tall person with red hair leading them all.

Well, long story short, in the span of just a hour, all of the were dead, 400 men, dying against 1 singular creature. And there weren't even any corpses since they were all destroyed on a particular level.

So now, there were only four people left in this Desert like area of the Dream Realm.

Ragna, Celeste, Layla and Caspian, two of them being alone somewhere in this hell.

As Ragna and Layla found a pretty safe place again they decided for one of them to sleep while the other one keeped watch.

Ragna was the one who would sleep first, so he did.

And when he fell into his slumber he found himself in a different body again.

In the body of the Bloodangel. He was dreaming, continuing right where his first dream stopped

"And upon you I bestow [Blood Weave]", spoke the masked Figure.

Since "his" body changed from just some cells to a small humanoid figure with wide, red and angelic like wings, he could finally move, not speak yet tho.

"So flawed yet so beautiful. I'll make you just like how I envisioned it, my little Bloodangel.

...

Right, I didn't tell you my name yet, did I ? How forgetful I am. A creation should always now the name of it's creator."

The masked person went on eye level with Ragna, or rather the Bloodangel.

"I'm Weaver, your creator. And I'll make you into something truly extraordinary. A creature, not born but made into a being worthy of the title Divine."

Suddenly Weaver put his hand on the Bloodangel's shoulder.

"Let me gift you something special"

It isn't much yet but when it will bloom, it will be your strongest partner.

And just then Ragna woke up

Before he could think of anything and make up theories about his dream, the voice of the spell whispered into his ear.

[You have received an Aspect Legacy, Blood egg.]

Ragna started coughing, bringing the attention of Layla onto him.

"Something wrong ?"

"N-no, everything's alright"

Layla then turned around again, staring off into the distance.

'D-did I just get an Aspect Legacy ?'

Aspect Legacies were something people rarely received, sometimes never. Every Aspect had an Legacy but there were hidden conditions to unlock them and Ragna had just unlocked his.

Getting an Aspect Legacy was something unheard for as an sleeper, but so was his divine Aspect. Speaking of Divine Aspect, wouldn't his legacy be really strong ? It's connected to his Aspect after all. And Aspect Legacies weren't only strong. They were often needed to create a Legacy Clan, something that Ragna always wanted to join but now he had the power to create one himself ? Without having the mental power to wait any more, he summoned his runes.

Aspect: [Bloodlorde].

Aspect Rank: Divine.

Aspect abilities: [Blood Catalyst].

Aspect Legacy: [Blood Egg].

Ratna quickly concentrated on his new legacy and so new runes appeared.

Blood Egg Description: [An egg. Something strong and yet unawakened slumbers deep inside it. Take care of it and it may bloom, giving you your strongest partner.]

So his Legacy was an Echo of sorts ?

But it was still a egg, meaning that he had do to something to awaken the beast inside it, but he didn't know what yet.

Blood Egg Fondness Level: [0/7]

First Relic: Unearned

Second Relic: Unearned

Third Relic: ...

Hope y'all like this Idea of Ragna's Aspect Legacy. I didn't want to do it a battle style like Sunny had it and an Echo was the coolest thing I could think of so I chose that.

Its like 01:30 am for me right now. I needed to write this chapter first before sleeping 😴

Peace ✌️
