Keegan Pov:

I wasn't prepared for the talk I'm going to be having with Alpha Johnathan this morning at the café, down the street from my apartment complex. All I know from what he had sent through text was to meet him at the café and that our talk was highly important. Waken up today thinking this would finally become my chance at becoming an or the Alpha. I could finally look into having my own pack and possibly starting a family without a Luna. A Luna is the female werewolf/wife or wives of any Alpha. They also rank higher than our Alphas. Technically, a Luna is our "Queen".

As I'm getting ready, my style changed slightly over the years and as i got older, I wanted to keep my alternative style. With my long black hair that's at my shoulders now, my black thick rimmed glasses that make me look like a nerd. Along with the way my body is built. I could describe myself as somewhat musclure, I do work out here and there so I've managed to gained a good amount of upper arm muscle. I have a slight 6 pack, nothing too serious, but toned. I stand at 5'8. Now my parents were tall, especially my dad. He was 6'6 while my mom was 5'6, so I could say that my mom was on the shorter side.

Now with how I was growing up. I'm considered the "black sheep" of the family. I wasn't super athletic or really into sports. I did try out for soccer, which over the years I grown to love. After graduation I wanted to find a new interest; and that's when I decided to become a professor and teach History. Other than my love for soccer, I had a love for History. It was one of the many subjects in school I really enjoyed.

But with me being this "black sheep", I had friends but they moved after middle school so I decided to keep to myself throughout high school. I tried making friends, but most of them bullied me constantly. Except for the 3 that's remained by my side from middle school til now. Cade, Joshua, and Saturo. Those 3 have never left my side and we still talk as much as possible. But sometimes us being adults can get in the way and we lose track of each.

After I take my shower, get myself freshened up for the day and change into new clothes, I begin to prepare myself for this talk. Knowing that Alpha Jonathan tells me that it's highly important, I should know what's expected. Once I'm done in the bathroom, I go back into my room, grab my shoes in one hand and keys in the other, shoving them into my pocket. Putting my shoes on, my phone rings. I Glace over as it buzzes on the counter where it had laid last night after coming home from Cade's house, we had gotten the chance to catch up, he has a family now which is great and I'm really proud of him. Alpha Jonathan is calling.

I stop to answer. "Good morning Sir... I see... I'll be there as soon as I finish getting my shoes and jacket on...alright bye." Setting my phone back down, I put my other shoe on before reaching over and grabbing my jacket off the rack that stands next to my front door. I double check to make sure I have everything before closing and locking the door behind me. "Here goes nothing..."

As I make my way to the coffee shop, thunder rolls in. I roll my eyes. "Please dont rain all day..." I beg out loud. I open the door to the café and serch for Alpha Johnathan,  who i see sitting at a booth meant for 4 people to my right. Dressed in a dark navy suit and tie, I make my way over to him. "Good morning Sir." I say as I take my seat across from him quickly while removing my jacket and setting it beside me. "Keegan, look...." Alpha Jonathan begins, I'm worried now. "Hi, my name is Delilah, I'll be your server today, what can I get started for you?" A voice besides us asks. I look up at her. She's stunning. Her beautiful cherry red hair up into a pony tail, glasses, soft make up done, freckles, and carmel skin; makes my heart beat a little faster. "I'll take a black coffee for now." I start, then Alpha Johnathan also orders a black coffee as well. "Thank you gentlemen, I'll be back with your coffees, please take this time to look over our menu." She says as she slips her note pad and pen into her apron and walking away with a smile.

I feel my cheeks go red. "Don't fall in love with a human Keegan, you know the rules." I run my hand thru my hair. "But Sir." He puts a hand up to stop me. "Keegan, we follow these rules because  of the hunters. Those rules are in place to protect us Keegan, soon you'll be an Alpha but for now, you're a Beta and still have a lot to learn." I nod in response as I look to see our server return with our coffees yet. While we wait, Alpha Jonathan has his hands folded up on the table and is slightly leaned in; looming directly at me.

"Here you both go and I apologize for the delay, we are a bit short staffed." She hands us our coffee before taking our food order. "I'll take the big breakfast, can I get bacon instead of the eggs please." Jonathan asks, she begins to write, "Yes, of course. Bacon is normally our go to side instead of eggs with our big breakfast. I'm very pleased that more and more customers enjoy it." As Jonathan finishes up, I continue to figure out what I want.

"I'll just have the French toast with sausage for mine and that'll be everything." As we hand her our menus. "Thank you gentlemen, I will be right back with your breakfast." She says before walking away and taking our menus. "I know the rules Sir... but what if..." Alpha Jonathan shakes his head at me. "Keegan, look. It's not safe. You'll end up dead." I huff. "Sir please, I want to know what it's like having someone. I don't want another Luna, and besides - that was forced and it wasn't good for the both of us. Plus my Luna hated us being together by force as well. She mentioned to me that we are better off as friends." I explained.

As our food arrives, me and Jonathan tell Delilah thank you and we begin to eat. "Keegan, for once just listen. You're an adult and I can't fully tell you what to do but I have been there for you since your parents died. I just want you to be careful, but if you really are going to go through with dating a human, please come talk to me." He says. "I'll be careful Sir, I promise." I look down at my plate that I've only eaten half of. "You're not to hungry I see?" Alpha Jonathan looks down at my plate vs his empty one. "I'll probably eat more at home. But honestly Sir, thank you for breakfast." We continue to talk for a bit before we get up to leave, as we do Alpha Jonathan puts a hand on my shoulder and leans in close to my ear. "I'm not going to tell you what to do, but don't get yourself caught. Remember, there's hunters out there and they'll kill us if they find out."

I stand there with my hands in my pockets, slowly nodding in agreement. In order for me to have a human as my mate, I do need to he careful. Delilah is an extremely pretty girl and I want to ask her out but not to rush myself into a relationship but more of getting to know her. Once Alpha Johnathan leaves, I take a 15$ tip out to give. I make my way to the front counter, but for some reason I get this weird feeling that I'm being watched.. I look around but I dont see anyone I dont recognize unless it's the customers in the café. I make my wau up to the front counter and begin to ask for Delilah. One of her coworkers' rushed to go grab her as I wait, I can feel my palms start to get a but sweaty. "Hey, is everything okay?" She says with a smile on her face.

"I wanted to give you this as a thank you for your service, I thought you did amazing."  As I hand over the tip money, I watch as she smiles while putting it in her apron pocket. "Delilah?" I keep myself from being nervous. "Yeah?" "Are  you free tonight?" We look at each other for a moment before she spoke again. "I'm free.." "cool, cool... here's my number, please let me know when you're off. I want to come by and hang out with you." I say as I write down and pass her the little folded up piece of paper. "Thank you. What's your name by the way?"

"I'm Keegan, my pleasure." We shake hands. "I'll make sure to text you." "And I'll see you tonight, take care."

After leaving with the huge smile on my face. I head back to my apartment and the rain begins. I hope tonight goes as planned and I don't get caught with Delilah. As far as these rules go, dating humans is strictly fobidden, we can't be in the woods past midnight or the hunters will come for us, we must have a Luna. And so many others. For once, I just want to be normal.  Delilah, her name sticks in mind. As I arrive back at my apartment and head inside, making my way to the elevator, a group of men in suits stand next to me.

As we all enter in, I do my best to stay in the back corner from them as possible. Once the elevator doors open, they make their way out and so do I. They must live on the same floor as myself. I get to my apartment and head inside; shutting the door behind me. Taking my boots off along with my jacket, I make my way into the kitchen to find something to eat. A knock at my door inturups me. "Who's there?" Shutting the fridge door and heading to my front door, I unlock it and open it slightly, peeking only my head around the corner.

It's the men in the suits. "Are you Keegan Dudley?" I stand there, my heart starts racing. "I am..." I try not to stutter over my words. "Come with us." "Wait... who are-" I get slammed up against the side planneling of my door frame and knocked out cold...
