Chapter 5 - Imprisonment

You're being unreasonable.

" Hailey thought that after the lie detector test, they would realize everything was a mistake.

"I'm the one being unreasonable? Hailey, if you enjoy playing games so much, I'll continue playing with you!"

Alexander roared in anger, reaching out to clamp her chin as if he wanted to crush her.

Beneath him, the woman's soft curves were pressed tightly against her, heaving with each breath of anger.

Damn it.

Why did he find this woman so beautiful when she was angry?

Hailey was pinned under him, their faces inches apart, both embarrassed and furious, "Scoundrel, didn't you say you didn't want to touch me again?"

Is he a lecher?

"It's you who's tempting me," Alexander blamed her.

"I didn't."

"Having an open mind but with such an innocent face, what else could it be if not temptation?" Alexander's tone was full of mockery, but his eyes, staring into hers, were tinged with a darker shade of desire, lowering his head to kiss her lips.

Hailey had never seen such a shameless person, blaming her for his own indecency. She was stunned for a second, but quickly understood, and a surge of hatred welled up within her.

Watching Alexander's approaching face, Hailey suddenly turned her head and, with all her remaining strength, bit into Alexander's neck, not letting go.

Her teeth sank deeply into his skin.

This was her last resistance.

"Ouch——"

Alexander winced in pain, roughly pushing her head away, covering his neck, and opening his hand to reveal a palm full of bright red blood.

She really went for it.

"You..." Alexander was about to scold her, but as he looked down, he saw Hailey's head hit the flat screen and she had fainted on the lie detector chair.

She just fainted.

As fragile as a cup.

Alexander raised his hand to slap her face, but as Hailey lay unconscious, tears flowed from her closed eyes, looking so vulnerable and pitiful...

There was no sign of pretense.

Alexander's gaze faltered, his hand froze in midair, and an indescribable feeling welled up in his chest.

"Young master, why are you bleeding?"

The butler, Feng De, came in from outside and immediately panicked upon seeing the blood on Alexander's neck, exclaiming, "I'll go get the first aid kit right away."

"Later," Alexander said coldly, picking Hailey up from the lie detector chair and walking towards his bedroom, while on the way, he lowered his head to cover her lips.

Her lips were sweeter than nectar, a fact he hadn't told her.

It hurts.

It really hurts.

Hailey woke up in a daze, a beam of sunlight shining through the large window, illuminating the European-style decorated bedroom, with purple floor-length curtains adding a touch of softness.

In this softness, the smooth sheets slowly brushed against her skin, fair and bare.

"Miss Hailey, you have finally woken up," Feng De said politely, standing by her side with a smile as she woke up.

Hailey didn't speak, sitting up silently from the bed, the discomfort and pain immediately reminding her of those unbearable scenes.

Several times, she woke up in pain, but Alexander disregarded her wishes completely.

She fainted in pain, and woke up again from the pain...

That beast didn't even spare her when she was unconscious.

Her body... it was as if it had become his toy, to be played with at will.

"Miss Hailey, would you like something to eat? The kitchen has 36 chefs from all over the world, with various flavors.

You can have whatever you want," Feng De said.

"When can you let me go?"

Hailey leaned against the bed, her face pale, her voice slightly hoarse, her eyes hopelessly lifeless.

Imprisonment

Upon hearing this, Feng De sighed and said, "Miss Hailey, the young master has asked you to be a guest here for a while, until you hand over the baby."

Being a guest?

It's imprisonment.

Repeatedly violated, and now losing her freedom, her life has suddenly taken such a drastic turn.

She still can't understand when she ever provoked this terrible, disgusting man, forcing him to not even believe the results of the lie detector, insisting that she was lying.

Hailey sat in silence, looking down at the soft quilt on her, wanting to lift it and leave, only to find her hands powerless...

The turmoil of the past two days has exhausted her strength; at this moment, she feels more useless than anything else, even breathing feels so tiring.

This strong sense of helplessness grinds her down, and a wave of sorrow overwhelms her.

After a while, tears slid down her pale cheeks, and her voice came out of her throat with difficulty, "Are you guys going too far? Relying on power and influence to do whatever you want... What gives you the right to imprison my freedom with just a word..."

She is a human being, not an object.

"Miss Hailey, as long as you hand it over..."

"I really haven't had a child," Hailey whispered, tears falling silently like a broken string of pearls, "I don't understand why you guys suddenly came after me."

Is this what they call a disaster falling from the sky?

"Last month, the Taylor family in England was preparing to select a suitable marriage partner for the young master, so we conducted an audit of his relationships. Among all the women, only you, Miss Hailey... The evidence we gathered indicates that you have had a baby, but we can't find the baby's whereabouts."

"What kind of evidence?"

She asked.

"Miss Hailey should know better than anyone," Feng De didn't give a specific explanation, but said, "Miss Hailey, this is, after all, the young master's own flesh and blood.

The young master is not going to let the baby be lost outside."

"Then... if I go to the hospital and get checked, won't that prove whether I've had a child or not?" Hailey suggested, almost humiliating herself.

As soon as the words left her mouth, her eyes were filled with bitterness, slowly closing her eyes, her fingertips tightly gripping her palm.

She clearly didn't do anything wrong, but she had to keep compromising.

"The young master said he has personally checked and doesn't need a doctor," Feng De said.

Personal check.

Thinking of those so-called "check" scenes, embarrassment flooded in like a tidal wave.

Hailey bit her lip until it was almost bloodless and said, "I said, you guys are wrong."

There is no baby at all.

"Miss Hailey, to be bold, with just the name Alexander, the chance of making a mistake is one in ten thousand," Feng De saw that she would not admit the existence of the child, so he gave up and said, "I'll go prepare some food for you."

Feng De left, leaving Hailey alone in the bedroom.

One in ten thousand.

She is that one in ten thousand.

She wiped away her tears and looked forward to see a laptop on the desk in front of the purple curtains, her heart trembling with excitement as she quickly got out of bed.

The pain and weakness all over her body almost made her fall, but Hailey bit her lip, enduring the pain as she moved forward.

With each step, her hatred for that beast of a man, Alexander, grew.

She walked to the door, locked it from the inside, and then walked with difficulty to the desk, opening the laptop to boot up.

As she waited for the computer to start, Hailey's heart raced, and the pain in her body was amplified, but she clenched her fists tightly to keep from crying out in pain.

Alexander.

Sooner or later, she will make him pay for all this pain.

After the computer started up and Hailey found out it was connected to the internet, she quickly tried to call the police using a

phone, but the call was cut off before it was even connected.

She persistently tried twice more, with the same result.

Out of options, Hailey logged into telegram and sent a distress message to her colleagues, hoping they could find a way to help her.

The message disappeared less than 0.1 seconds after she sent it.

Gone...

Just like that, it was gone.

Hailey stared in shock at the screen, then hastily typed out another line, only for it to vanish as well.

An unspeakable panic enveloped her as she tried calling emergency services and a newspaper she remembered, desperate to escape...

But the outcome was the same, the call dropped before it even connected.

"Bang."
