Chapter 1 - Prologue

On the far northeast of Zondaethea lies the kingdom of Arrandel. Ruled by the king of Tiria, he brought upon peace and prosperity. Despite being buried in constant snow all year long, with fair ruling and a circle of geniuses around him, he was well liked amongst its citizens.

On the final day of the final war, as the forces of Vericia marched between the mountains that guard the kingdom from the west, the three legends stood on top of mount Durkess. Theo the goliath, Aria the druid, and Glitch the old one stood near the peak. Under them, Detria the ancient, a white dragon revered for her wisdom. On the other side stood Thurkin the everlasting, A snow giant from the northernmost peaks of the kingdom.

A storm brewed in the sky, it was finally time for the last encounter. Thurkin rushed down to meet his troops in order to lead the final charge. As for the three legends, they all got on top of Detria, who took flight immediately. Dashing into the sky, she saw the figure of Vericia, the ancient steel dragon. Also known as the steel terror, she was here to take control of these lands.

Charging at each other, Vericia let out a blast of acid rain, dodging to the side and with an ice blast, Detria charged once again. They clashed into each other, the ice blast obscured Vericia's vision. Going straight for her neck, Detria bit down with all her strength, blood gushed out of Vericia's neck as she dug her claws into Detria's torso. They both fell from the sky and the group held on for dear life.

Crashing into a mountain side, an explosion of snow arose from the site. With the air cold and foggy, the crew hopped off of Detria's back. Looking up, the horrific display of Detria's gaping wound on her chest, her right ribcage on display as blood gushed out. Before giving a moment of thought, a crash of lightning could be heard.

The group stood back to back, looking around. The falling snow did not allow them to see for more than a few feet in front of them. When all of a sudden, Aria saw a womanly figure sprinting towards them. Before she was able to react appropriately, she dodged to the side as Vericia threw a punch at her. She missed, hitting glitch on the back who barely budged.

Turning around, he swung his hammer down in one motion, she dodged his attack, it leaving a small crater on the snow. "Pathetic" She says loudly, a chill runs down the party's spine. The paladin took one heavy step towards her and swung his hammer at her side. The strength of the attack leaving a shockwave from the shear strength. However, to his surprise and dismay, she blocked the attack with the palm of her hand. She smirked as she looked up at him, before she could react, a streak of light appeared from the hammer. Theo used divine smite in an attempt to defeat her, to no avail.

She looked at the scorch mark on her palm for a second, "not bad" she said while smiling. Another beam of light manifests from mid air, this time, sparkles of light quickly transformed into a beam that seemingly fell from the sky onto her. Aria cast moon beam from behind. Another large explosion, the strength of which throws Aria away from the party.

Its hard to see, it's cold, Theo and Glitch stand together under Detria. A loud roar echoes through the air, the sound of heavy breathing bounces off the snowflakes in the air. Theo trembles, is it possible he might lose his life in this fight? Regardless, his faith requires him to stand tall, seemingly fearless, for what is there to fear when Tyr is on his side. Glitch on the other hand is unable to comprehend the situation at hand, was vericia much stronger than anyone had anticipated?

They didn't have much time to think, let alone speak. They didn't know each other very well after all. Out of nowhere, a loud thud, Aria suddenly comes flying through the air and lands in Glitch's arms. Unable to breath, she had been hit with Vericia's tail directly on her chest. Another loud roar, a thick gas fills the air, Theo's and Aria's ear pops as the sound of wind around them stops. Glitch does not notice this, and hears the fluttering of wings. Not one second after, Vericia landed down on them from the air, smashing all of them with her wings.

None of them were able to withstand her barrage as she crashed her wings down on them relentlessly. She flew away, both Theo and Glitch attempted to swing back, but both of them missed. With one last breath, she rained acid down on them, they all fell to the ground, covering themselves with what little they had. Most of the snow was melted away at this point, the three heroes and the dragon all laid on the floor, dead, if not deeply wounded.

With one last roar, Vericia flew away, blowing more snow into the air. It felt even colder, as she left, the winds she lifted felt like those of a blizzard. The four of them laid together, before all of their visions faded to black, like those in a play.

Soft scratching can be heard, loud hissing, almost like decompression. The warm air starts to become colder. They can feel their fingers, their toes, the rising and falling of their chests. Slowly blinking, it's dark.

A booting sequence occurs, one second he didn't exist, the next second he did. Holding onto a tall ornamental sword, he stood tall between two sarcophagi. Extremely buff and completely made of steel, the sword would be too unwieldy for anyone but him.

The two sarcophagi opened slowly, one much bigger than the other. It was due time for them to be reborn.
