The Association of Enchanters had their building solid in the heart of Tokyo. It the building that sheltered the enchanters during some special assignments or during a meeting .
It was programmed to be accessible to everyone during the day but during the night it vanished off the spot it was built on. It simply invisiblised itself. Only enchanters could see it during the night.
Xu Jing was standing in front of the hulk building of A . O . E. He walked towards the the building still thinking about his decision. He knew that if the Association of Enchanters rejected him, there was a very slim chance of him getting a better job than the Yummy restaurant. He heaved a sigh of hope as he pushed open to the door to the reception of the association.
He began to scan his environment. It marveled him at the technology advancement he saw. He could see that the elevator was of linen. He tried to touch the linen but a voice called out to him.
"I bet you do not want to get shrinked to death , Mister Xu Jing." a red haired guy said crossed him and waved his hands over the linen.
Supernaturally, it opened and the red haired guy stepped into the elevator. Xu Jing made an attempt to step into the elevator but was paused again.
"You would get burned Mister Xu Jing. It's restricted to all those who aren't enchanters. Meet the receptionist over there for him whatever reason you came "the red haired guy said to Xu Jing.
Xu Jing stared at him. He was amazed by the fact that the red haired guy knew his name . They had never met before and this was the first time he had seen him.
Any way, he walked to the receptionist at the other side of the hall.
"How may I help you ,Mister Xu Jing? the receptionist asked. She was a young lady in her early twenties. She had a smooth blue hair which was long.
"Sorry for the intrusion, but I came to join the Association of Enchanters. "Xu Jing said. Xu Jing was still confused about how the receptionist knew his name without his personal introduction.
"Mister Xu Jing, you look too young to join the Association of Enchanters. Probably, you will come back once you are about twenty years." she said but Xu Jing was not ready to give up.
"I'm nineteen years old . Is too young to ask?! " Xu Jing was freaking out. He couldn't just give up due to one stupid age limit . He was going to get this job no matter what came his way.
"No, but to the Association of Enchanters set a minimal age of twenty years. The only way you can be given the job is if you are sure you will pass the accession test without any hitch in the process." she said. Xu Jing stared at thin air trying to picture out a rank test. Was he going to write something like an exam? If he was then he was certain that he would have the job. He smiled secretly at himself.
"Alright , I am in. Where do I sit for the test?" he asked but she countered his choice of verb.
"You would not need to sit, it's going to run for ten minutes." she said. Xu Jing stared at her in confusion. Was that why the test was so hard? Answering questions within ten minutes!
" Go into the red coloured block in the center of this hall. You will have a rank test there." she said and gestured him in the direction of where the block was.
Xu Jing walked towards the block in anxiety.
"I luck kisses me. D*mn! I can't afford to lose this job. It's just not right ." he said as approached the block. He entered into the block and within some graceful seconds he felt a kind of wave over him. He could feel himself moving at a high speed but he could not see any difference in his surrounding.
Then suddenly he found himself in a new place. He looked around to analyze his surrounding. He could see that the place was a deserted area. The plates was kind of hot. A strange kind of heat emitted from the surrounding to brush against his face.
Then he noticed that the place wa on fire but the flames were not redish orange , they were blue in color and the intensity at which it was burning was definitely not normal.
He couldn't see or feel the presence of a soul. He began to wonder who was going to perform the test for him. Just then , a text message seemed to hang in the air. He walked closer to the mysterious object in the air. Then he pushed his hands through it and he couldn't feel it.
"What the.... what kind of a message is this? Is this a new technology or what? It doesn't have mass!." Xu Jing said in disbelief .
Then he looked at that message reading it's content.
[ You have ten minutes here . Survive throughout the duration. Wish you good luck.]
"Nah! just a typical error here. I was sent here for a test and not for survival of the fittest. Now where do I get the papers for test in the this forsaken place . I can start frrr.."
"Skreeeeeechhh!!!!"
His words was paused by the screech of something behind him. He had a real bad feeling about that. He didn't want to turn back to stare at him but he couldn't help his inquisitive nerves from controlling his hypothalamus.
He turned to see the producer of the screech an what he saw sent quavers through his skin.
Before him was an almighty sized spider. It was taller of than him and was as well larger of than him. He gulped the nothingness of the air around him .
"Was this what the message meant by ' 'survive' ? D*mn!! F*ck it! This is suicidal. She was supposed to tell how the test worked, maybe I wouldn't have persisted in this . I could die here ." Xu Jing said in almost a whisper.
