Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Worst Fear Come True (Part 1)

Another boring school day, another pile of work to do when I get back home, and hopefully, not another pile of bloodstained clothes to clean up.

I kept pace with the bustling crowd of students, eager to go home and relax. The streets in front of the school were lined up with cars driven by parents waiting to pick up their kids.

I went down my usual route, walking down the wooded road towards my house. My senses were sharpened, determined not to kill another animal, keeping me sane. It didn't last long, unfortunately.

A red car drove up next to me and stopped. Four burly boys stepped out and surrounded me, itching for a beating.

I tried to run away, but was quickly restrained and pinned down. One of them positioned my head to face upwards towards their leader.

"Hey, wimp," he greeted with a cruel smile. "What's up?"

I knew these boys. It was Clarence and his gaggle of burly minions. They took joy in tormenting the other students at my school, giving them a scare and even hurting them severely. They'd bullied me a few times, but I'd never thought they would jump me.

"Let go." I wriggled and squirmed, to no avail.

"Tie him up, boys." He opened the car trunk, took out a bundle of rope and duct tape and tossed it to one of his friends.

A few minutes later, I found myself in the back of the trunk, with my hands and ankles bound and my mouth forcibly shut with duct tape. I could hear the laughter of Clarence and his friends, behaving as if nothing was wrong.

Out of anger, I gave the trunk a kick. I did it again, and again and again, until one of the passengers yelled, "Shut up, wimp!"

Then, the car came to a halt. I heard the doors open and close and the click of the trunk unlocking.

The group removed me from the trunk and carried me towards a hole a few meters away from the car. They tossed me in, not even bothering to remove the rope and duct tape. I landed on my back, a sharp pain shooting through my spine.

Clarence and his friends laughed and jumped into the hole. "Did you see that?!" One asked. "Yeah! It was so damn funny!" another one laughed.

And to make matters worse, my head began to hurt and my stomach began to growl. I could feel bloodlust rising from my core.

No, not now…this isn't a good time. I could…

"What's wrong, wimp?" Clarence grabbed my jacket collar and pulled me close to his face. "Scared?"

"Let go of me, right now," I tried to say, my words muffled by the duct tape.

"What?" Clarence removed the tape.

"Let go of me, right now," I repeated.

"So you really are scared!" Clarence let go of me. "Yo, pass me the bat!" He ordered one of his friends.

One of his buddies handed him a baseball bat. Clarence examined the bat with a gleam in his eyes, excited by all the ways he could hurt me. My eyes widened with fear.

I couldn't keep my hunger suppressed anymore. It took over me. My mouth began to water, and sharp claws slid out from under my nails.

"Uh, Clarence?" one of the bullies pointed at me. "What's wrong with him?"

Clarence looked at me and rolled his eyes. "No worries. He's just too scared, that's all." He raised the bat above his head and prepared to swing it dowards on my head.

It was too late.

My claws cut to ropes binding my ankles and I rolled out of the way as the bat struck the ground. Clarence looked at me, surprised.

"Hey! Hold still!" He repositioned himself and took another swing at me.

By then, I had managed to free my hands and grab the bat. The claws had come out, but I was still somewhat in control. I just needed to get out of here, without killing everyone.

I slashed Clarence's face, leaving it with three bloody lines. He recoiled in pain, dropping the bat. The bullies looked on, shocked at what they were seeing.

"Don't just stand there! Get him!" Clarence ordered.

His friends charged at me, trying to restrain me. I growled and howled, easily breaking free from their grasp. And then, I slashed at the throat of one of the boys.

Bright red blood spilled out from the fresh gash. He stumbled backwards and then collapsed to the ground.

The rest of the group jumped and backed up against the wall, as I turned my focus towards them next, lunging at them for the attack.

That was all I could remember.

When I woke up, my vision was slightly blurred and my body ached. I looked at my hands, covered in blood.

My vision quickly cleared and I stood up on my feet. I felt a rush of fear rush through my brain at lightspeed as I realized what I had done.

No…No..NO! What…What have I done…?!

Clarence and his friends were no more. Their frozen faces sported looks of agony and despair, with dried blood and viscera painting the ground and walls a dark red hue. Their limbs, bones and organs were squashed and smeared into mush and fragments, dismembered and bleeding.

The sky was now a red color, and the moon was already out, glowing a faint white shade.

I scampered out of the pit and rushed back home as fast as I could.
