Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Breaking Through to Soul Elder

After their meal, Leng Yaozhu took Jing Shaoyu back to the 101st floor, her exclusive floor.

"Ah-Yuan, this will be your room from now on," Leng Yaozhu said, pointing to a lounge area. "Feel free to come here anytime."

"Got it," Jing Shaoyu nodded, indicating his understanding.

"Good. Now get some rest. Tomorrow, I'll take you somewhere suitable for your cultivation," Leng Yaozhu said with a smile.

"Alright, good night, Teacher," Jing Shaoyu replied.

"Good night," Leng Yaozhu answered.

Jing Shaoyu entered his new room. It had all the essentials: a bed, a desk, a wardrobe, a private bathroom, and a large window with a view overlooking Shrek City. However, the Shrek Academy area remained concealed, exuding a powerful aura even he could feel from afar.

The next morning, Leng Yaozhu appeared with her usual radiant smile. "Let's go, Ah-Yuan."

"Coming!" Jing Shaoyu quickly ran to her side.

Leng Yaozhu led him to a lush, verdant forest filled with tall trees and blooming flowers.

"This place is…" Jing Shaoyu muttered, feeling a strange resonance within. His Primal Spirit martial soul stirred excitedly, making his heart race with anticipation.

"The Star Dou Forest," Leng Yaozhu said with a smile. "Your martial soul should find this environment ideal for cultivation, right?"

"Yes!" Jing Shaoyu nodded eagerly, his face lighting up with joy.

"Alright. For now, you'll cultivate here until your soul power reaches level thirty," Leng Yaozhu instructed.

"Got it," Jing Shaoyu responded enthusiastically.

"Begin your training, then. I'll guard you," Leng Yaozhu said.

Jing Shaoyu sat cross-legged on the grass, closing his eyes and entering a state of calm. Slowly, his soul power began to circulate. Soon, he fell into a deep meditative state, his senses fading away until only a vibrant, pulsating sense of nature remained.

Leaning against a nearby tree, Leng Yaozhu observed with surprise. "Deep meditation! It seems I brought him to the perfect place!"

To her astonishment, the natural energy within a hundred-meter radius began to surge toward Jing Shaoyu, forming rivers of energy that merged around him. It was as if the forest itself was welcoming its new master. Green lights danced around him, and natural energy enveloped his form in a serene, tranquil aura.

---

Five days later.

When Jing Shaoyu finally woke, he felt more refreshed than ever. It was as if he had experienced the most restful sleep of his life. No fatigue, only a sense of complete rejuvenation.

He stretched with a deep sigh of satisfaction.

"You're finally awake!" Leng Yaozhu's voice snapped him from his reverie.

Jing Shaoyu looked at her, realizing he was still in the Star Dou Forest. "Teacher, I… I didn't expect to sleep so long."

"You fell into deep meditation; that's a good thing," Leng Yaozhu explained. "It's been five days. How do you feel? Hungry?"

"Hungry?" Jing Shaoyu touched his stomach but found he felt perfectly fine.

"And your soul power? Have you broken through?" Leng Yaozhu asked with a hint of expectation.

Jing Shaoyu closed his eyes, sensing the changes within, then opened them with a smile. "Yes, Teacher! I've broken through to the Soul Elder realm—my soul power is now at level thirty-two!"

Leng Yaozhu clapped in approval. "Well done!"

Jing Shaoyu released his martial soul, and Leng Yaozhu immediately noticed a significant change in his appearance.

"Ah-Yuan, has your martial soul evolved again?" Leng Yaozhu asked, her eyes gleaming with interest.

"It's not exactly an evolution, Teacher, more like an awakening of additional abilities," Jing Shaoyu replied.

"Oh?" Leng Yaozhu looked at him thoughtfully.

His transformation had three notable aspects.

First, a new Dao Essence Stone had appeared on the Crown of Nature. Leng Yaozhu asked, "What abilities does this Dao Essence Stone grant you?"

"It gives me wind element immunity and Wind Binding, Teacher," Jing Shaoyu explained.

The third Dao Essence Stone provided him with a new immunity and skill. Wind Mastery granted him 30% wind element immunity, raising his fire and water element immunities to 30% as well. Wind Binding allowed him to summon a whirlwind with a pull effect—while limited in power, its control capabilities were exceptional.

"Interesting. With three Dao Essence Stones representing different elements, it seems safe to assume you'll gain immunity and abilities for other elements as well. Your Primal Spirit martial soul is even more impressive than I expected," Leng Yaozhu commented.

Jing Shaoyu's second change was to his Primal Wings. His two wings had become four, changing from pure white to a vibrant emerald, aligning them with his martial soul's aesthetic.

Leng Yaozhu chuckled with delight. "Ah-Yuan, your wings finally match your martial soul. No more looking like angel wings."

Jing Shaoyu was equally pleased. With the four-wing form, his flying speed and altitude had increased, now comparable to most Soul Elders specializing in flight.

The third change was the most intriguing to Leng Yaozhu: a vertical eye had appeared on Jing Shaoyu's forehead, colored in shades of mystical purple, noble gold, and elegant silver, all blending into a mesmerizing tri-colored hue.

From this eye, Leng Yaozhu sensed immense spiritual energy. Curious, she extended a thread of her own spiritual power toward it, only for the eye to emit a faint glow, severing her connection instantly.

Leng Yaozhu was stunned. As a Spiritual Domain-level Douluo, her spiritual power was formidable. Even a mere fragment of it should have been too much for a Soul Elder, yet this eye could sever it as if it were nothing.

"Ah-Yuan, what's the story behind that eye on your forehead?" Leng Yaozhu asked, her tone calm but curious.

"It's called the Dao Eye, Teacher," Jing Shaoyu replied, his hand moving to touch his forehead. The eye closed with his touch, leaving only a faint bump. "It's a vital organ of the Primal Spirit martial soul. It makes me immune to mental control effects, absorbs ambient spiritual energy to enhance my spiritual power, and can block any attempts to invade my mind."

The Dao Eye was something that had been gestating within Jing Shaoyu's spiritual sea.

"How powerful!" Leng Yaozhu couldn't help but exclaim. "This means that your spiritual power will continue to grow passively, even without active cultivation, correct?"

"In theory, yes," Jing Shaoyu nodded, smiling.

"Taking you as my disciple was the best decision I've ever made!" Leng Yaozhu said, a hint of pride in her voice, along with a bit of awe.
