Chapter 48 - Found You

After a while of being one with the ground, Ashley's eyes fluttered opened as soon as the wound on her head began to heal. Since she was more mortal than human now, she would have to get use to wounds healing slower. Ashley rose to a sitting position and hissed at the sharp pain that seized her at the sides of her head.

She couldn't believe they left her here on the floor to rot.

Ashley burst into more tears at the reality of her situation. She was too heartbroken to get on her feet. The tears kept flowing down from her cheeks like a river and her heart ached more than being stabbed by a dagger.

The bile that formed at the back of her throat was unsavory, like hell's pie. She wept like someone who had just lost a dear one.

She had just lost her immortal form for nothing.
