Chapter 4 - Unwanted Event

Sign of the Awakening of the God of Destruction

--------------------------------

Arion slept soundly until the next morning. When he woke up, his body felt very fresh, for the first time he had not been disturbed by dreams of the supreme god in the past two weeks. Although he wondered a little about it, Arion decided not to think about it any further. "Maybe I'm just too tired," he thought. With a lighter feeling, he opened the bedroom door and saw his mother cooking in the kitchen, the aroma of cooking welcoming him warmly.

"Good morning, Mother," Arion greeted with a bright smile, like someone who had just woken up from a long, peaceful sleep.

His mother turned with the same gentle smile. "Good morning too, Arion. Did you sleep well last night?"

"Yes, Mother. It feels like it's been a long time since I slept this well." Arion approached, smelling the aroma of the food his mother was preparing. "Can I help you cook?" he asked, reaching for a knife to start helping.

"No need, son. You'll be tired before you go to school," his mother answered caringly, but Arion did not give up.

"It's okay, Mom. I'm your strong son!" he replied enthusiastically, proud of himself.

His mother chuckled. "Okay, if you insist. Just cut the ingredients, okay? But be careful."

With a feeling of satisfaction, Arion took the knife and began to cut the vegetables carefully. The peaceful atmosphere felt like a protection from all the bad things that had ever haunted his mind.

After they finished cooking, Arion helped set the food on the table. They sat together and started to have breakfast, enjoying a rare moment together.

"Mom, did you know? There's a new teacher at school whose hair looks like a broomstick!" Arion joked, starting a hilarious conversation.

His mother chuckled. "A broomstick? Is it that bad, son?"

"Seriously, Mom! Every time he passes by, the wind seems afraid to come near him. All the kids in class are whispering about his hair flying," Arion added with a laugh, feeling proud to have found a joke that entertained his mother.

His mother laughed even harder this time. "Ah, you're so funny. Don't let your teacher hear you get scolded!"

"Yeah, if you get angry, maybe your broomstick can turn into a secret weapon!" Arion said with a big smile, making them both laugh out loud.

After a breakfast full of laughter, Arion said goodbye to go to school. When he arrived at school, he saw Livia playing with her friends. Arion tried to sneak in without attracting attention, but his efforts failed when Felix, one of his closest friends, greeted him loudly from behind.

"Hey, Arion! You look like a thief, sneaking around like that!" Felix shouted, his loud laughter echoing throughout the school yard.

Arion put on a lazy face, feeling that his plan had just been ruined. "I didn't do anything, I just wanted to get to class without making a scene," he replied resignedly.

Kael, who was standing next to Felix, laughed along. "A scene? You and the scene are like best friends."

Felix continued, "Yes, Arion. You are a scene magnet!"

Arion sighed. "Yeah, especially if you guys join in," he said while rolling his eyes, but deep down, he was happy to have friends like them.

Their laughter caught Livia's attention, who finally turned around and walked over to him. "Arion, did you get caught again?" Livia asked with a small smile.

"Yeah… I guess so," Arion replied with a slightly embarrassed expression, scratching the back of his head.

"Hey, Liv, did you know? Earlier Arion tried to sneak around like a thief," Kael laughed again, as if he wanted to keep teasing Arion.

Felix added, "Yeah! We can be detectives, catch him with complete evidence!"

Livia chuckled. "Poor Arion, always getting played by you guys."

With laughter still plastered on their faces, they parted ways. Arion, Kael, and Felix went to their class, while Livia headed to her own.

In class, the atmosphere changed. Many students were busy chatting, but one conversation caught Arion's attention. Several students were discussing the news that a small-scale but large-scale meteor would hit the earth. Arion was stunned. The meteor traveling at incredible speed was difficult to detect when exactly it would hit the earth. Hearing this news, Arion's mind immediately connected with the message he had received from the god. "Is this a sign of Noxaroth's awakening?" he thought, but his daydream was interrupted when the teacher entered the classroom.

Suddenly, warning sirens sounded throughout the city. The entire school became noisy, the warning sound echoing in every corner of the room. Arion and his friends immediately looked out the window, trying to find out what was happening.

The scene outside was more terrifying than Arion could have imagined. Meteors fell from the sky, like a rain of fire ready to destroy the city. The black shadows of the meteors looked like circle of death on the ground. The students began to panic, running in all directions to save themselves.

Arion immediately looked for Kael and Felix. "We have to find Livia!" he shouted anxiously. The three of them ran towards class 13E, where Livia usually studied. When they arrived, Arion found Livia hiding under a table, her body shaking with fear.

"Hi, Livia. It's me, Arion!" Arion said in a voice loud enough to make sure she heard him.

Livia, who was scared, smiled in relief when she saw Arion. Without hesitation, she immediately hugged him tightly. "Arion, I was so scared," she said in a trembling voice.

Arion returned the hug gently. "Calm down, I'm here now," he said as he calmed Livia down.

Felix and Kael finally arrived in class, seeing Livia's face still full of anxiety. Arion knew that time was running out. "We have to go to the underground shelter," he said firmly. Without waiting for an answer, Arion carried Livia who was still weak, and they ran towards the school's basement.

After reaching the shelter, Arion tried to call his mother, but there was no signal. Anxiety hit his mind, imagining his mother who was at home without protection. He almost decided to go out to find a signal, but Kael and Felix immediately made him aware.

"Arion, it's too dangerous. If you go out now, who will protect your mother if something happens to you?" Felix said in a serious tone, while Kael nodded in agreement.

Arion thought for a moment and finally agreed. They all finally took shelter in the underground bunker, only able to wait for the time when the meteor hit the earth.

When the bunker door locked automatically, Arion received a notification from his cellphone. The latest news appeared on the screen: "This meteor hit all corners of the world. Maybe this is the end of everything."

"What mystery is behind all these disasters, will this be a game from the gods?" Arion muttered "And why was I chosen from millions of humans out there"

He said with frustration.

Arion's face became paler. Was the world really going to end here? How could he face the fact that his world was on the verge of destruction? And will the power the god promised appear when he needs it most?
