Christine was terrified. She knew begging Marcus would be useless, so she instinctively reached for her phone to call for help. But just as she pulled up her recent calls, Marcus snatched the phone from the front seat.
As they fought over the phone, Marcus's strength overwhelming her, Christine's finger accidentally hit a name in her recent calls — James Cooper.
The call connected for just a few seconds before Marcus ended it.
He frowned as he scrolled through her call history from the past few months. There were two calls from James - both initiated by him.
"James Cooper..."
A cold light flickered behind Marcus's golden frames. "Oh look, it's Adrian's faithful dog."
His polite mask finally slipping, he shot Christine a lewd look, his words dripping with crude implications: "Don't tell me you and Adrian have some filthy little secret?"
