"Violet!" Cain snapped, trying to calm her down, but she was already clawing at his skin, even as she slowly but surely became more manic the longer he held her down, which made him suddenly ease up and let her go—only to watch her bolt off the bed.
But Cain couldn't allow that. She was blind, and getting off the bed was asking to collide with the machines scattered around it. It was already a shock that it hadn't happened yet.
"Violet! I'm right here. It's me...Cain!" he softly called out to her but wasn't particularly surprised to see her continue to fight him and claw at him like her life depended on it. He was just about to let her go again when he watched her suddenly turn her hands to herself, clawing at her own face and eyes. He stopped her in time.
