"Fiona! You should have stayed back for a while longer!" Eldric said, glancing at the door one more time to make sure it had been firmly closed before dropping into the sofa he had been sitting on as he watched Fiona, his daughter, move closer to sit right beside him.
"Father! I was sure Cain had left!" she said as she sat beside him, wrapping her arms around his own and leaning against him.
"I heard the entire conversation!" she said, her eyes fixed on the glass table in the room as she spoke with a worried expression on her face.
"There's nothing to worry about! Everything is going as expected! Cain was supposed to refuse so that I won't have to keep giving him the medicine. Once the stash I ordered Ravon not to hide is finished, he'll come back to ask me for more, and then he'll have no choice but to accept my terms!" Eldric said with a determined expression on his face.
