Cain's nostrils flared as the metallic tang of blood thickened in the air. His voice was sharp and commanding as he turned to Frank. "Who do you think is attacking?"
Frank, the head of his guards, didn't hesitate with his reply. "Lord Javi or another Vampire lord!," he said grimly.
Cain wasn't surprised. "Go on," he prompted.
Frank's voice tightened with urgency. "If it were any other werewolf lord, I wouldn't have had to call you. The casualty report I've received is bad. A Red has to be involved."
Cain nodded curtly, his jaw tightening as he processed the implications. The attack wasn't random; it was calculated, and Lord Javi's involvement meant they were dealing with a direct challenge.
"Drive faster," Cain ordered, the tension in his voice enough to make his driver step harder on the gas.
