As Alex walked away, Mark's expression turned into a sneer. "Look at him, a lost puppy who thinks he's found a new friend," he said, his voice dripping with disdain.
Elisa felt a pang of hurt and anger at Alex's dismissal. She didn't understand why Alex was so cool about leaving her, like he never cared about her at all. She tried to brush off the feeling, but it only seemed to intensify as she watched Alex laugh and chat with Dianna.
Determined to hide her hurt, Elisa joined Mark in his mockery. "Yeah, look at him, thinking he's so special just because Dianna is talking to him," she said, her voice laced with venom.
Mark snickered, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "I know, right? He's like a little lapdog, following her around and wagging his tail."
Elisa's hurt and anger boiled over, and she unleashed a torrent of insults at Alex's retreating back. Elisa's words were laced with malice, but deep down, she was trying to cover up the hurt she felt. She couldn't understand why Alex was no longer focused on her, and it made her feel insignificant and unimportant.
As they continued to mock Alex, Elisa's voice grew louder and more venomous. "Look at the little waiter boy, thinking he's so special just because Dianna smiled at him. Newsflash, Alex, she's just being nice to you because she feels sorry for you."
Mark joined in, his voice dripping with malice. "Yeah, you're just a charity case, Alex. A poor, pathetic little boy who can't even get a real job."
Elisa's voice sliced through the air. "You're just a joke, Alex. A pathetic little joke who thinks he's worthy of Dianna's attention."
Mark's laughter echoed through the room, his voice growing louder and more mocking. "Yeah, you're just a waste of space, Alex. A useless little waiter boy who can't even get a tip right."
Elisa couldn't stop herself. She was consumed by her own jealousy and anger, her words spilling out of her like venom. "You're just a nobody, Alex. A pathetic little nobody who will never amount to anything."
Mark's eyes narrowed as he watched Elisa's tirade against Alex. He could see the venom in her eyes, the malice in her words. But he also saw something else - a flicker of hurt, a glimmer of concern. It was a small crack in her facade, a tiny chink in her armor.
He knew Elisa's history with Alex And now, as he watched her mock and belittle him, Mark realized that she was just hurt that Alex didn't give her any attention.
But Mark didn't feel a pang of sadness or jealousy. Instead, he felt irritation and anger. How dare she seek attention from a scum like Alex? When he was the one trying to make her life better.
Mark's eyes flashed with annoyance as he watched Elisa's performance. He knew she was just covering up her hurt. But he didn't let her see that he had noticed.
As he watched Elisa's mocking words, Mark felt a surge of contempt for her. She was so blind, so oblivious to his true intentions. She thought he loved her, thought he wanted to help her music career. But Mark knew the truth - he was only using her so he could get rich.
And when he got what he wanted, Mark would dump Elisa without hesitation. He would leave her broken and heartbroken. But for now, he would play the game, would pretend to be the loving boyfriend.
He would get what he wanted, no matter the cost. And Elisa would never even see it coming.
As Dianna stepped onto the stage, the audience erupted into cheers and applause. Elisa's eyes narrowed, her gaze fixed on Alex as he clapped and whistled along with the rest of the crowd. She couldn't believe the look of genuine interest in his eyes, the way he was completely absorbed in Dianna's performance.
Elisa's anger and envy simmered just below the surface, her mind racing with bitter thoughts. She realized she was still attracted to Alex but she couldn't understand Why was Alex so captivated by Dianna? Didn't he remember her, the woman he had once loved?
But deep down, Elisa's hurt and anger stemmed from the fact that Alex wasn't groveling at her feet, begging for forgiveness and a second chance. She had expected him to be devastated by their divorce, to realize his mistake and come crawling back to her. But instead, he seemed happy and content with Dianna.
Elisa's pride was wounded, her ego bruised. She had thought that Alex would never move on, that he would always pine for her. But now, as she watched him laugh and smile with Dianna, she felt a deep sense of betrayal.
Why wasn't he fighting for her? Why wasn't he trying to win her back? Elisa's mind raced with questions, her heart burning with anger and hurt.
As Dianna began to sing, her powerful voice soaring through the auditorium, Elisa's resentment grew. She couldn't bear the thought of Alex being so enamored with another woman, especially one as talented and beautiful as Dianna.
Elisa's eyes flashed with jealousy as she watched Alex's reaction to Dianna's performance. She saw the way he smiled, the way his eyes crinkled at the corners, and her heart burned with anger.
As the performance came to a close, Elisa felt a bitter taste in her mouth. Elisa stormed out of the auditorium, her anger and hurt boiling over. "Take me home," she spat at Mark, her voice venomous.
Mark, taken aback by her sudden outburst, hesitated for a moment before following her out of the auditorium. "What's wrong, Elisa?" he asked, trying to placate her.
But Elisa was having none of it. "Just take me home," she repeated, her eyes flashing with anger.
As they drove through the streets, the tension between them grew thicker. Mark tried to make small talk, but Elisa was silent, her arms crossed and her eyes fixed on the window.
Finally, Mark couldn't take it anymore. "What did I do wrong, Elisa?" he asked, his voice laced with frustration.
Elisa turned to him, her eyes blazing with anger. "All this talk about helping my career by signing me to another entertain industry was just talk, when are you actually going to be a man and do what you say," she spat trying to mask that she was hurt be Alex ignoring her. She asked him to stop the car, then opened the door and got out of the car.
Mark watched in stunned silence as Elisa hailed a cab and disappeared into the night. He was left wondering what he had done wrong,
Meanwhile, Dianna finished her performance to thunderous applause. Alex was waiting for her in the wings, a huge smile on his face. "You were amazing," he praised her, his eyes shining with admiration.
Dianna blushed, feeling a flutter in her chest. "Thanks, Alex. I'm glad you enjoyed it."
As they chatted, Dianna found herself tempted to ask Alex about Elisa and Mark. She had noticed the tension between them, and wondered what was going on. But she held herself back, not wanting to pry into Alex's personal life.
