Chapter 84 - Clipped Wings

Delphinia's arms throbbed as the two men hauled her down the dim hallway toward her father's office. Their hands clamped around her forearms like iron shackles, and though she struggled at first, she quickly realized resistance was futile. The thick carpet silenced their steps, but ragged breaths filled her ears, fueled by a mix of anger and frustration

The large double doors of Robert Harrington's office towered ahead, their dark finish shining in the uneven light. One of the men knocked sharply on the door.

"Come in," Robert's deep voice barked from the other side.

The door swung open, and the men marched her inside without hesitation. The office was just as intimidating as she remembered, with shelves of old books and a huge oak desk in the middle. Robert sat behind it, his piercing eyes narrowing the moment they landed on her.

"What happened?" he asked, his voice cool but laced with irritation.
