There are many ninja families of all sizes in Konoha, but not many can truly shine on its grand stage.
The three prominent bloodline families—Uchiha, Senju, and Hyuga—are the most influential, like three towering mountains overlooking the entire Konoha.
There are also some allied families that band together to counterbalance these giants, such as the Ino-Shika-Cho trio, which has formed a generational alliance to support each other.
Additionally, the Inuzuka and Aburame families, who have a good relationship, each with their unique affinities—one for dogs and the other for insects—form another bond.
Now, with Tobirama Senju, the central figure of Konoha, deceased, the Uchiha family, which has been clamoring for prominence, has a significant opportunity to lead.
Hinata Takuma decided he couldn't wait any longer. He wanted to rise and seize his chance.
Early in the morning, when there were few people around, he met with Uchiha Nan.
"It's true that heroes emerge from the young. To shoulder the clan's burden at such a young age is truly commendable," Hinata Takuma began, offering compliments. Flattery often paves the way.
"No, no. It was just that Clan Leader Tomita favored me and insisted on passing the leadership to me. I couldn't refuse his persistence," Uchiha Nan replied, uncertain of Takuma's intentions but engaging in small talk nonetheless, suspecting the elder had an agenda.
They chatted for a long time, drinking several cups of tea. Takuma felt the need to excuse himself, his age and prostate not cooperating. Yet, he hadn't broached his main topic.
Could Uchiha Nan really be so patient? Didn't he want to become Hokage? Takuma had come to extend an olive branch, indicating it was time to discuss the Hokage position.
Noticing Takuma's discomfort, Uchiha Nan, in his youth and vigor, smiled slightly.
"Another cup?"
"No, no," Hyuga Takuma declined, shaking his head. He hadn't come just for tea.
"Brother Nan, I'm a few years older than you. Just call me that; it's more intimate."
"Let's discuss important matters. With Lord Tobirama gone, Konoha needs a strong, capable leader to stabilize things."
Takuma spoke earnestly, as if ready to sacrifice for Konoha. He raised his eyebrows, suggesting Nan take the lead.
Takuma knew the Hyuga family, one of Konoha's top three, lacked the top-level combat power needed to vie for Hokage. However, he could still strive for his family's benefits.
With funds from the Land of Fire and war reparations coming, there would be wealth to distribute. If Uchiha took more, Hyuga would get less.
The family awaited this distribution!
Senju Tobirama's promises were now moot, so Takuma sought dialogue with the next Hokage.
Ignoring Senju's cold demeanor, he saw Uchiha Nan as stronger, though politically weaker due to Tobirama's long-standing suppression.
Supporting during tough times was better than adding to the prize. It was a strategic time to invest!
Together, Uchiha and Hyuga could secure the Hokage seat!
"Tsk, brother Takuma, don't you know? The Second Hokage had already chosen Sarutobi Hiruzen as his successor."
Nan sipped his tea, eyeing Takuma with a peculiar look, as if sharing a well-known secret.
Sarutobi Hiruzen?
Honestly, Takuma hadn't taken Hiruzen seriously. A minor player, benefiting from Senju Tobirama's favor, now without Tobirama was nothing.
Sorry, who are you?
I'm the noble patriarch of a bloodline family; don't overreach!
"Brother Nan, don't joke."
"Everyone knows they abandoned Hokage and returned alone. Who knows if their news is true or false?" Takuma sneered, dismissing Hiruzen entirely.
"I don't know if Brother Nan wants to advance!"
Takuma revealed his true intention.
"We're not against progress, but specifics can't be discussed yet."
"Don't think that way. Perseverance and effort can achieve anything."
"."
Nan, without revealing his stance, understood Takuma wished to switch allegiances from the Senju to Uchiha.
Initially, Takuma likely wanted to steer the conversation, but Nan intended to stretch it out.
Good, good, good!
Takuma was shocked by Nan's political acumen. He was right to come!
"Konoha's Hokage—Senju has had two; I think it's Uchiha's turn."
"You!"
"Uchiha Nan is Konoha's Peaceful Hokage!"
"The Hokage bringing peace to Konoha!"
Takuma decided against subtlety, speaking directly.
Indeed, politics was often murky, but sometimes directness was best.
"Do you really think so?"
"Of course, from the heart!"
Takuma appeared sincere. With Uchiha's Mangekyō Sharingan and Hyuga's power, they couldn't lose.
"Then, happy cooperation?"
Nan finally smiled, extending his hand, ready to ally with the Hyuga clan. Takuma's initiative couldn't be rebuffed.
Securing the Hokage role was just the first step; the real challenges lay ahead.
Future cooperation with Hyuga was essential.
"Happy cooperation."
Takuma shook Nan's hand, content with achieving his goal.
With pleasantries exchanged, they shamelessly praised each other.
"The greatest Third Hokage of the future!"
"The sole choice to lead Konoha to prosperity."
"The most visionary Hyuga clan leader."
"."
Compliments flowed freely—they cost nothing. You praise me; I praise you; reputations grow.
(Elsewhere, Sarutobi Hiruzen, known as the strongest Hokage, silently gave a thumbs-up.)
Eventually, Takuma left Uchiha's home satisfied, inviting Nan to visit the Hyuga house.
Afterward, Nan headed to the Uchiha Security Department, starting his first day as clan leader, now promoted to head of the department!
