Celestia stood in the center of her library, mentally running through a list of increasingly absurd ideas. She'd given Adrian stale bread, terrible tea, and her pet goats; none of it had deterred him. If anything, he seemed more intrigued. She clenched her jaw in frustration, realizing she needed to up her game.
Just then, Hugo entered the room, looking both amused and exasperated.
"Still scheming, I see," he said, giving her a sly grin. "You do know that most people would kill for the chance to marry a prince, don't you?"
Celestia scoffed, flicking her hand dismissively. "Yes, and I am not 'most people.' I will not be a pawn in some royal marriage alliance. If Adrian won't take a hint, I'll simply make myself... unbearable."
Hugo chuckled, leaning against the bookshelf. "You're already halfway there, darling. But what do you have in mind?"
