The infirmary was filled with Serena's screams. Even though Teddy hadn't explained why she needed to scream, she put all her soul into that painful howl she let out of her chest. She screamed the pain of being stabbed by the knife, of her womb being cut open, she screamed of the terror of the maggot trying to crawl inside her, of the creature she gave birth to and most importantly she screamed out of fear of dying.
Hearing his mother's desperate cries, Aual became restless crying acid out of the orbs of his eyes. Teddy grabbed him and used that acid to melt down the rusty locks that kept the door stuck to the wall. The locks slowly began to dissolve not standing a chance against the baby's tears. As the door began to fall, Teddy immersed in maniacal laughter making both Serena's screams as well as Ajal's cries stop.
-The door, noticed Serena stunned.
-You should thank… whatever this is. I noticed his tears can melt metals on the way here. The door is shut down so the poison can't enter. We should be safe.
-The vent…
Henry looked at the big hole in the floor that served as ventilation. He shifted his worried gaze at Teddy and Serena.
-Fuck.
-We could put the bed on it. The mattress. It's wide enough.
-Great thinking!
Teddy covered the floor hole with the mattress quickly. The light in the room switched to red.
Ajal started to nuzzle his head against his mother's chest uneasy, feeling the tension in the room. Henry wrapped Lancey in the bed sheets and put him in the doctor's chair. He placed himself on the desk in front of him and held the chair in place with his feet. Teddy wrapped his arms around Serena, holding her tight to Ajal's complaint.
-Do you think it's going to make the ship shake again?
-Who knows what those maggots in the walls will do? We haven't seen them acting aggressively before and yet one little shake and they started to crawl under our skin. We secured the room, but we still have one maggot alive inside it.
Teddy pointed towards Ajal.
-I don't think he likes them varmints. He yanked out of me after all.
Sensing his mother's support and approval, the creature started purring satisfied. He crumbled his mother's shirt into his little sharp claws.
-I think he likes you a lot.
-Yeah. I thought it would be worse, but he's quite nice. Like a little pet.
Simon was on his way to Alice's room. As the loud alarm was going off, announcing the release of the poison, the man was making his stroll to salvation quite satisfied of himself. He was excited actually. After all the crew would die in the infirmary, they would have a lot of food. Enough to last until they could reach back Earth at least. Not only that, but he would have Alice to keep him company.
-Why are you so proud? the voice of Henry rumbling into his head.
-I secured the food, I secured the ship and I am on my way to a satisfactory fuck.
-No, you killed your crewmates, you release poison to anger the worms in the walls and you are on your way to being used as a sperm donor by a hysteric lady.
-Well, you're dead and I am alive so it doesn't matter. Oh, I mean you will be dead as soon as the poison is released. Man, I had to kill you twice today. You're really stubborn, aren't you?
As Simon stepped into Alice's room and shut the door tight behind him, he felt a sharp razor against his neck.
-Alice? What are you doing, sweetheart?
-I am not a victim anymore.
-Huh?
-Drop your pants and don't move!
