Chapter 59 - The miracle

I felt my life slipping away, my vision blurring as the blood continued to flow from my wound. Kael's eyes were filled with desperation as he struggled to free himself from Grimgar's grip.

But just as all hope seemed lost, I felt a strange sensation within me. It was as if my unborn baby was stirring, responding to the danger that threatened our lives.

Suddenly, a warm, golden light began to emanate from my stomach. The light grew brighter and brighter, until it was shining like a small sun.

Grimgar shielded his eyes, momentarily blinded by the light. Kael took advantage of the distraction, breaking free from Grimgar's grip and rushing to my side.

The light enveloped us, filling us with a warm, comforting energy. I felt my wound begin to heal, the blood flow slowing to a stop.

But it was more than just physical healing. I felt a deep sense of peace and tranquility wash over me, as if my baby was reassuring me that everything would be okay.

Kael's eyes were filled with wonder as he gazed at me in awe. "Ava, the baby... it's healing you!"

I smiled, feeling a sense of pride and wonder. "It's a strong-willed child," I said, my voice filled with emotion. "It's not going to let anything happen to us."

As the light faded, I felt a sense of renewed energy and strength. I stood up, brushing off my clothes, and gazed at Kael with a determined look.

"We need to get out of here," I said, my voice firm. "We need to get back to the village and warn them about Grimgar and his master."

Kael nodded, his eyes still filled with wonder. "I'll get us out of here," he said, his voice filled with determination. "I'll keep you and our baby safe."

Together, we turned and ran, leaving Grimgar and his master's plans behind. We didn't stop until we reached the safety of the village, where we were greeted with open arms and warm smiles.

As we settled into our new surroundings, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at the miracle that had just occurred. My baby had healed me, had saved our lives.

I looked at Kael, and saw the same sense of wonder and awe reflected in his eyes. We knew that our baby was special, that it had a special gift.

And we knew that we would do everything in our power to protect and nurture that gift, to help our baby grow and thrive in a world filled with danger and uncertainty.
