Chapter 55: The Journey Begins
Kael's POV (continued)
I looked at Ava, and she nodded in determination. We were in this together, and we would see it through to the end.
"Thank you for your wisdom," I said to the old man. "We will find the source of the dark force's power and stop it."
The old man nodded, a small smile on his face. "I knew you two had the heart of warriors. Be careful, the journey will be treacherous."
We left the old man's hut, ready to begin our journey. We had no idea what lay ahead, but we were determined to see it through.
As we walked, Ava turned to me with a curious expression. "Kael, do you think Niamh knows about her father's pact with the dark force?"
I frowned, unsure of the answer. "I don't know, but I intend to find out."
We walked in silence for a while, our minds focused on the task ahead. But as the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the landscape, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.
What were we getting ourselves into? And what would we find at the source of the dark force's power?
As we set up camp for the night, I couldn't shake off the feeling that we were being watched. I looked around, but saw nothing.
"Ava, do you feel that?" I whispered, my eyes scanning the surrounding area.
Ava looked at me, her eyes wide with concern. "Feel what?"
I hesitated, unsure if I was just being paranoid. "I don't know, it just feels like we're being watched."
Ava's expression turned serious. "Let's be careful, just in case."
We settled in for the night, our senses on high alert. But as I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't shake off the feeling that we were in grave danger.
