Chapter 21: Shattered
Third person POV
Kael's world crumbled around him, the wolfsbane's grip suffocating. His mind foggy, he struggled to stand, driven by a singular thought: Ava.
"Ava!" he howled, his voice echoing through the forest.
Memories flashed: vampires descending, Ava's terrified screams. The image of her being dragged away seared his soul.
With Herculean effort, Kael stumbled forward, his vision blurring. His pack – he needed them. Together, they would rescue Ava and destroy Cassius.
Meanwhile, in the heart of the vampire stronghold, Ava trembled before Cassius.
"You'll soon understand," Cassius whispered, his voice dripping with malice. "Your power will serve us."
Sabine glided in, a sly smile spreading across her face.
"Ava, meet your new sister," she purred.
Ava's eyes narrowed, confusion and fear warring within.
"Sister?" she repeated.
"In blood," Sabine clarified, her gaze locked onto Ava's.
Cassius' eyes gleamed with triumph.
"Kael will come for you," he stated.
Ava's resolve crumbled, her voice barely above a whisper.
"No."
Cassius leaned in, his breath cold against her ear.
"Yes. He'll walk into our trap."
As Kael rallied his pack, Cassius orchestrated his plan.
The stage was set.
The battle for Ava's soul had begun.

My pack assembled before me, their eyes burning with determination.
"We get Ava back," I growled. "Tonight."
Vampire Leader, Cassius' POV (Continued)
Sabine's whisper reached me.
"Cassius, what of the Bloodstone clan?"
I smiled.
"Let them think they're allies. For now."
