Really, the universe is... fascinating.
I say that because my classmates and I were allegedly teleported to this white void or space after leaving our classroom. I don't know; all I know is that I have two options: freak out and panic desperately, or I repress my emotions and stay very calm, which in this situation I should not be.
As I was completing my sort of inner monologue, a few distinct grey particles emerged out of heck knows where, combining to make a light grey, slim human figure. It had no hair at all, nor any distinguishing external characteristic. The strange creature had no ears, nose, mouth, or eyes.
Finishing analysis on the grey figure, it spoke; it's voice resounding across the space with a commanding tone that even the delinquents suppressed their anger and panic. "Let's get straight to the point. I am a manifestation of the almighty, who likes to call himself [the author]. Being his avatar, I myself am nigh-omnipotent and have gotten bored. Therefore, I am seeking amusement, in this case, you mortals."
Well, that was a huge dump of information for everyone here. As I was contemplating whether to ask a question to the strange who claimed to be an incarnation of the creator and telling he was nigh-almighty, the class rep raised his hand. "Excuse me, if I follow what you said.. you are basically god; boredom has gotten to you, and for entertainment, you wish to play with our lives?"
"Points for you, Blondie. I believe everyone has read a fantasy novel or a comic here." Everyone here in the white void hesitantly nodded; I mean, it made sense; no one wants to instigate a being who is literally a god. "Good," the being continued, "A person will be randomly selected by this drone to be the antagonist, or to the world you'll be going to, the demon king."
The being raised its right hand and opened its palm, having no lines on its opaque fingers. A black drone machinery materialized out of thin air, booting itself to fly and identifying everyone in the current vicinity, was my presumption.
I had my eyes on the drone, and rightfully so. It was coming in my direction, and there were only two people near me. One was a bimbo with a lot of sway in the class, and the other was the captain of the baseball team.
"...."
After a few moments, the drone came straight to me and came falling down, me catching it out of reflex. Haah.. what the hell was I expecting? Being born with bad luck is affecting me here too.
"Seems I got my antagonist. The rest of you will be the heroes of the world you will be going too. Also, your head will roll if you mortals mention anything about me to a soul."
I just realized that I didn't know what world I was going to. I was in deep thought when I noticed my classmates were fading away, leaving golden particles behind their now transparent bodies. Eventually, they vanished entirely.
"Normative growth will not be sufficient to combat 24 human heroes. So I will give you two perks of your choice."
The humanoid figure waved it's left hand, and a huge pitch black wall with ornate gold engravings appeared, crashing down from the supposed sky. I could read the gold markings surprisingly.
"Perks huh.." I started from the top left, reading every single ornate carving till the bottom left end, so I could make sure I took the best two while considering the long term. "Hmm.. I have made my choice, strange being or whatever you are."
"Are you sure you want those two?" I had expected it to read my mind, considering it was a god. The being had its hand ready to wave and send me away.
"I am a hundred percent sure! Send me to that crappy world!!"
"Alright." Expecting it, the grey figure waved its hand, and I started fading like the others before. I was able to see the golden particles, where my body parts were supposed to be.
...
Everything went dark; nothing was visible. I could not feel when my eyes blinked shut, so I imagined closing them. I thought that it would a few minutes before I would be warped out of here.
As I expected, a brilliant ray of light suddenly shone and broke through the eternal darkness that was once before. A few distinct images could be made out in the horizon. Mountains, trees, high valleys, sounds of the forest critters. I woke up finding myself in a forest, its greenery acting as it's robes, and the top of trees, envisioned like the crown of the grand forest, celebrating its beauty and might; it's sheer size I could not comprehend. Everywhere I looked, there was only more and more bushes, with occasional river streams. Thickets of thorn and berry bushes—it was a humbling sight.
I was sitting with my legs crossed, pondering my next move, when I heard a tiny ding in my mind. A black holographic screen with golden borders and text hovering in front of me was the next thing I noticed when I looked around.
[Ding!]
