It was a wet rainy day.
Cupid sat while hugging his leg in the corner of the school corridor. With the rain pouring like this, it would be hard for Cupid to go home.
And since Cupid didn't want to go home today. It wasn't because he hated staying home or anything, it was just that, suddenly, he wanted to sit and watch the raindrops fall. In this cold atmosphere, Cupid just wanted to sit there and watch the rain slowly drip from the black dark sky.
Something feels sad, something feels deserted.
No matter how noisy it was, it didn't bother Cupid much. While the other students looked out the gate with worried faces: "How can we go home like this?"
"I forgot to bring my umbrella today! Ahhh!"
"I'll have to cancel my plan for today...if it keeps raining this hard, I'll catch a cold for real..."
Cupid wasn't afraid of anything, because except for a few math homework, there wasn't much to do for tomorrow.
He slowly closed his eyes, enjoying the rain through the cool air and the sound of the rain falling heavily on the ground.
Then he started shaking his head back and forth, started humming, and hummed along to the rhythm of the song.
The whispers behind them as they saw Cupid's familiar back:
"Is that… Cupid?"
"Who? You know that person?"
"Tck, tck… how could I not know, Cupid is the rumored angel of love!"
"Huh?! That person real?"
"That's right! A student from class A-2. Sometimes a bit cold but very good at giving reliable advice in the field of love!"
"Wow…" then the student suddenly remembered something, he asked in surprise: "Class A-2…it seems there is another member with a prominent reputation in that class, right?"
"Oh, you know? Yeah, if I remember correctly, that person's name is Nova."
"Nova…isn't he the best student in the literature department?! Not only that, he's also good at the minor subjects! He's a nine or ten in every subject…he's truly a good student."
"But it seems…I heard…he and Cupid are quite close…I wonder if…"
Suddenly, a gentle voice asked, "Are you two talking about me?"
"N-Nova…hello! We're sorry for…"
"There's nothing to apologize for." Nova gently shook his head, his narrow eyes making him look so gentle: "Ah." Looking over to the nearby hallway, Nova noticed a familiar figure: "So you're here!"
Ignoring the two students, Nova walked closer to Cupid, his hand quickly opening his crossbody bag, taking out a black umbrella: "Cupid, it's late. We should go home."
"Ah…" Cupid looked up, with an expressionless face, he nodded: "Uhm…" but still sat there, his mouth continuing to sing without moving a muscle.
"Ah…" Nova sighed, walked over, and sat next to Cupid: "Want to finish that song of yours?"
Cupid nodded, his mouth continuing to sing random words.
"So… anything fun at school today?" Nova asked, lowering his head, and resting his chin on his knees.
"No…" Cupid stopped singing, quickly answering Nova.
"So do you want… to eat some popcorn to regain your spirits?"
"Yes!" Cupid's face was expressionless but his words sounded very enthusiastic.
"Then we have to run back today! Otherwise, there won't be much time to make popcorn, it's too late and I have to go back to my house too." Nova instructed, he stood up, and opened the umbrella, intending to give it to Cupid to share.
But Cupid was quicker, he jumped out into the wet yard, without a coat on because he had used it to cover his backpack.
"C- Cupid!"
Ignoring Nova's screams, he jumped over the puddles of rain, splashing water everywhere.
No matter how wet he was, as long as the books in his bag were dry, it was fine.
"You'll get sick!"
Who cares… right?
Stepping on another puddle, then another, Nova finally caught up with him.
He quickly pulled him closer: "Really…if I'm not here, who will take care of you?"
"I can do it myself."
Nova raised her eyebrows: "Are you really sure about that?"
"…"
"Well…if one day, you happen to fall in love with someone, please let me know about them. I'll try to pass on my experience of taking care of you to that person." Nova's face was insistent.
Cupid tilted his head, with drops of water gradually falling from his wet hair, he slowly looked at Nova: "Nova...the one who says that should be me. Has anyone caught the eye of the best literature student in the school?"
Nova gradually raised both hands to his face, covering his red cheeks, his eyes widening, he asked: "H...how do you know!?"
