Chapter 5 - part 4: A witch Lisa

Heaven, welcome me, here I come.

"Ok ems, I'm leaving,"

Traitor.

Christian's face showed confusion as he processed my words. "What did you just say?" he asked, his tone bewildered. The look in his eyes sent shivers down my spine.

I closed the door, gathering my courage, and moved towards him, though still maintaining a safe distance. "Umm, what-did-I-say?" I stammered, breaking the words apart.

"Emily," his voice was stern, making me shiver. His low tone was enough to scare me.

Who told you to open your bitchy mouth, Emmmmsss, when Sam made everything clear?

Now be ready for the consequences, Miss dumbhead Parker.

Aahh God, help me, please for this time.

"Miss Parker," Christian's voice broke through my thoughts. He was closer now, much too close. I hadn't realized I had been backing up until I felt the table behind me. He rested his hands on the wall, trapping me just like he had in the basement the other day.

"Am I a devil? Is that what you said?" His face moved even closer to mine, and my breath hitched.

Then i remembered the words of Sam.

"Don't hesitate, don't panic. Be confident."

"Am I a devil, Miss Parker?" he repeated, his intense gaze boring into me.

"N-No, Mr. De... Mr. Christian," I stuttered, closing my eyes and biting my lip nervously.

What the hell is wrong with the pretty mouth of mine today aghh?

He furrowed his brows, looking at me with such intensity that I felt our lips were just inches apart. He glanced at my ocean-blue eyes while I nervously looked into his lips Just then, the door opened.

And Lisa burst into the office, what she saw her eyes widening in shock and made her blood boil. There I was, standing too close to Christian, much closer and it looked exactly like what Sam had planned, well it was quiet more high than Sam and I planned.

"YOU FUCKING SLUT !! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING ?!"

Lisa shrieked, her face twisted with rage.

At her shouting in me Sam also barge in the room.

Her voice was so loud and venomous that it echoed through the room, startling me. Christian's expression darkened as he looked at her, his eyes narrowing.

"ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY, YOU BITCH?! WHAT DO YOU THINK? THAT YOU CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE AND I'LL LET YOU? YOU GOLD-DIGGING BASTARD!" Lisa continued, storming towards me without even noticing Sam standing by the door, a small but satisfied smile playing on his lips.

"LISA!". "Watch your mouth! Especially in front of Sam." Christian's voice was sharp, cutting through her venomous anger.

"Don't tell me what to do Christian, when the girl being near you, and you can't let her away huh?? Is that you fucking planning out of two?"

"Lisa, stop it and Don't exaggerate." Christian warned, his voice dangerously low.

"HUH? YOU'RE DEFENDING THIS WRETCHED BITCH OVER ME?!" Lisa screamed, her voice filled with venom.

Just then, Sam played his part. He ran and grabbed Christian's legs, feigning fear. "D-Dad, please stop her! She's scaring me, Dad!"

Christian looked down at Sam, his expression softening for a brief moment before he turned to Lisa, his tone firm. "Lisa, stop right here."

"Why should I, huh? Why didn't you stop her? This bitch thinks she can just crawl into your bed right under my nose?" Lisa's eyes blazed with fury.

"I...I..." I tried to speak in my defense, but Lisa cut me off.

"DON'T YOU DARE SAY A WORD, YOU CHEAP LITTLE SLUT ! YOU THINK YOU CAN STEAL WHAT'S MINE? WHAT I'VE WORKED SO DAMN HARD FOR?" Lisa shouted, her voice trembling with rage.

She stepped forward, ready to hit me, but Christian moved swiftly, and stood between us.

"That's enough Lisa." His expression darkened, but his voice controlled because he didn't want to raise his voice in front of Sam.

But she was Lisa , she didn't stop for once, "You've been playing innocent, huh? But I know your kind. You think spreading your legs for him will get you what you want? You're just a desperate, money-hungry whore!"

Tears welled up in my eyes, but I remained stood on the spot, I was too scared to even breathe.

Christian's expression darkened further. "One more word, Lisa, and you'll face the consequences."

But Lisa ignored him, her fury now directed at him. "You're just going to stand there and let this tramp do whatever she wants? She doesn't care about you! She's just after your money, like every other bitch!"

At that moment, Sam, who had been quietly watching, couldn't take it anymore. "Stop yelling! Stop it, please! Dad, please make her stop. She's scaring me!" Sam began to cry.

Christian's face hardened. Seeing Sam witness this ugly scene made his anger reach a breaking point.

"Get out," he said, his voice low but dangerously serious.

Lisa froze, disbelief washing over her. "W-What?"

"I SAID, GET OUT! You've crossed the line, Lisa. Sam doesn't need to hear this filth. Get out of my house. Now. And don't ever show your face here again."

Lisa's eyes widened in shock as she realized she had lost. Without another word, she turned and stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

Christian exhaled slowly, his anger still simmering beneath the surface. He turned to me, I was still standing there, trembling and tearful. Then, he glanced at Sam, who was watching him with wide, innocent eyes, and the thought of how much this scene had hurt me a lot and pained me deeply.

"Go to your room, Sam," Christian said softly.

Sam nodded, then shot me a small grin before hurrying out of the room, leaving Christian alone with me. Christian's expression softened slightly as he turned to me.

"Are you okay?" he asked gently.

I nodded, though I still looked shaken. "I didn't mean for any of this to happen," i whispered.

Christian sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know. It's not your fault. Lisa... she was out of line."

I nodded again, but i didn't say further. Christian watched me for a moment, then stepped closer, his voice gentler now.

"You don't have to be afraid of me, Miss Parker. I'm not the devil you think I am."

I looked up at him, my eyes still filled with uncertainty.

Does the devil ever admit he's a devil? I thought.

but there was a small glimmer of trust. For the first time, I saw a caring side of him, and it began to melt the icy wall around my heart.

"Miss Parker?" Christian's voice interrupted my thoughts, and I looked at him. But as my heart ached with the weight of the cruel words I'd just heard, I turned and ran from the room, leaving Christian standing there alone.

Christian followed me outside, where the light rain was still falling. He called out my name loudly, "Miss Parker!"

I stopped and turned around.

"Wait. I'll drop you off; it's raining," he said. I stood there for a moment, hesitating, until he brought his BMW M8 Gran Coupe and pulled up beside me. Rolling down the window, he spoke firmly, "Get in."

I reluctantly stepped into the car, and we drove off.

The ride was silent; neither of us said a single word. When we reached my home, my heart sank because I was getting some weird vibes.

There were people everywhere, and something felt horribly wrong. As I stepped out of the car, my eyes widened in shock. I ran towards my house, which engulfed in smoke and flames. My mind froze.

How could this happen? My throat tightened, and the words wouldn't come out.

Seeing me like this, Christian got out of the car, his worry was evident on his face. I ran towards the burning house and my thoughts racing to my Aunt Suzy, who must still be inside. But before I could get any closer, one of my neighbors grabbed my arm, stopping me in my tracks.

I couldn't comprehend what was happening. Some Men were trying to extinguish the fire, and a few others were frantically calling the fire brigade.

My brain felt like it had shut down, the voices around me becoming a distant hum. The only thing I could think of was my aunt. The thought of her being trapped inside was killing me. I yanked my arm free and tried to run towards the house, but Christian suddenly appeared, pulling me back.

"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? CAN'T YOU SEE THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE? WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? DO YOU WANT TO DIE?" he shouted, his eyes burning with anger.

I glared at him with teary eyes, trying to break free, but he held on tightly.

"Listen, if there's anything inside, let the fire brigade handle it when they arrive. But I don't think anything left from burning. He said, his tone softening as he cupped my face, trying to make me understand.

He didn't realize my desperation wasn't for documents or cash, but for my aunt. I pushed him hard in the chest, causing him to stumble back slightly, and I ran towards the house, shouting.

"AUNT !

AUNT SUZY!

EMS IS HERE!

I'M HERE!

YOUR EMMS IS HERE LOVE !

CAN YOU HEAR ME?

PLEASE COME OUTSIDE!

PLEASE STOP PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK AUNT.

COME OUTSIDE,

I'LL DO WHATEVER YOU SAY BUT PLEASE COME OUTSIDE AUNT.

The rain started pouring heavily, soaking my clothes and revealing a little not much but it was enough if someone look closely. But I didn't care. My screams echoed, and people began to stare at me, at my desperation.

Christian approached near me again. "Miss Parker, please, come back to the car. The smoke could make you cough, and you're not in a state to be out here like this. Your clothes are wet and....."

I glanced down, realizing how exposed I was. Before I could react, he took off his coat and draped it over me. I shot him a side glare through my tears, but just then, the fire trucks arrived. The firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, and after a little while, one of them approached me.

"There's no one inside the house, not even any dead body, ma'am. Everything is burnt badly. It's a police case now, and the investigation department will handle the rest."

Christian, standing beside me, nodded and told them everything.

I felt my legs give out as I sat abruptly on the ground, a lost look on my face. The coat slipped from my shoulders as I stared blankly, my thoughts consumed with my aunt. Christian knelt down beside me, gently placing the coat back on me.

I grabbed his shirt in my fists and rested my head against his chest, crying my heart out. I could hear his heart racing, but I didn't care I ignored because at that time nothing was important to me more than my aunt Suzy.

"Shh, Miss Parker. We'll find her," he murmured, caressing my head. Then, I heard my phone rang. I answered it, my voice shaky.

"Yes?"

"How's your house, Emily Parker?"

A sinister voice with a devilish laugh came from the other side.

I sat up straight, my eyes wide with recognition.

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU, YOU BLOODY BASTARD? WHERE IS MY AUNT? SPEAK UP, OR I'LL KILL YOU!"

Christian looked at me in confusion, as I pulled away from him.

"Tch tch tch, poor Emily and her poor Aunt Suzy," listen to me girl, what did I say huh?

The mafia man taunted. But before he could say more, Christian grabbed the phone from me and started talking to him.

"If you remember, I told you if you didn't pay back your debt, I'd ruin your house. Or else you'd have to pay with your body. You forgot? When you weren't home, I had to take your dear aunt with us. Now she'll pay the price, little brat."

The mafia man continued

Christian's eyes darkened as he spoke into the phone, his voice cold and lethal.

"If she's not here in 15 minutes, your whole fucking group will meet death. Mark my words."

With that, he ended the call. I'd never seen him this angry before, not even when he'd yelled at Lisa.

"Miss Parker, she'll be here soon. Come, get in the car," he urged. But I pushed him again, this time harder which caused him to nearly fall.

I started pacing back and forth, biting my nails, trying to figure out what to do.

"Miss Parker, listen to me. Nothing will get solved like this. Stop overreacting. She'll be here soon."

I glared at him, my anger reaching a boiling point.

"AND WHAT MAKES YOU THINK SHE'LL BE RELEASED JUST BECAUSE YOU SAID SO? WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, A MAFIA LEADER? DO YOU THINK THREATENING THEM WILL MAKE THEM OBEY YOU AND RELEASE HER? THEY WILL OBEY YOU? YOU HEARTLESS, RUTHLESS MONSTER! YOU?? HUHH?? GET OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW !!!"

"Miss Pa..."

"I SAID JUST LEAVE! I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP! I CAN HANDLE THIS ON MY OWN. JUST GO!"

I frantically tried calling the number back, pacing back and forth and pulling at my hair in desperation. But no one answered. I was going crazy with worry and imagining what they might be doing to my aunt.

Finally, I saw Christian leaving, and my heart sank even further.

"Huh pathetic."

~CHRISTIAN WALKER~

Victor?"

"Yes, sir?"

"Find Carlos's hideout. I'm giving you 30 minutes to locate the place where they're keeping the woman. Bring that woman back to miss parker and Bring the gang to me before nightfall. They won't be at their headquarters; they've likely taken her to a secret location. Find it."

"Understood, sir."

"And Victor, keep an eye on Emily Parker. Make sure she's safe and provide her with every protection from now on. Once her aunt is rescued, take them both to my apartment for their safety, no matter what."

"Roger that, sir."

Exactly 30 minutes later, as Victor had promised, Suzy was brought back to Emily. But her face was bruised, a brutal reminder of what she had endured at the hands of one of the mafia men. After ensuring Suzy was safe, I headed back to my mansion. My head was pounding with a severe headache, and I needed to check on Sam, who was alone.

As soon as I reached the mansion, Sam ran towards me, hugging my legs tightly. He was still small, but he had grown stronger. I picked him up, then placed him on the couch, settling him on my lap. I kissed his head, and he wrapped his small arms around my waist.

"My baby, how are you feeling?" I asked gently.

He nodded, indicating he was okay. I took a deep breath and said, "Sammie, I need to tell you something important, so listen to me carefully, okay?"

He nodded again, looking up at me with trusting eyes.

"The words Lisa said in front of you-promise me you won't repeat them. I don't ever want to hear them coming from you, alright?"

"But Daddy, now I know those words, and they're stuck in my head."

"Sam, just because you've heard those words doesn't mean you have to use them. Just because someone else does something wrong doesn't mean we should do the same. We can choose to be better."

I held him a little closer, making sure he understood. "Those kinds of words are like poison-they hurt people, and they can hurt you too by making you feel angry and bad inside. You're better than that. I know you wouldn't want to hurt anyone by using them, right?"

"But what if I'm really angry? Like Lisa was?"

I smiled gently at his cuteness. "Sometimes, when people are angry or upset, they lose control and say things they shouldn't. Lisa used some very ugly words because she was mad, but that doesn't make it okay. It's okay to feel angry-we all do sometimes. But when you're angry, I want you to come to me, okay? Burst out your anger on me. I'm your dad, and I'll teach you how to handle it."

Sam looked at me, his little face full of determination. "Okay, Daddy. I promise."

He then hugged me and I kissed his head again, and said "That's my boy."

Sam headed back to his room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I decided to take a hot shower, hoping it would relax my tense muscles. The water splashed against my sculpted face as I ran my fingers through my hair, my eyes closed. Just then, Emily's face flashed in my mind-first, when I stood before her, and then when she was crying after Lisa left. I felt my heart race than before, it was a new feeling I experienced.

A Mafia boss's heart racing for a mere girl? I shook my head. That can't be true. It must be an illusion. But the feeling gnawed at me-how could it be just an illusion?

I'm brutal and heartless, I reminded myself. I don't feel anything for anyone. But this feeling... it's leaving me restless in a way I've never experienced before.

After the shower, I wrapped a towel around my waist and stepped out, rubbing my wet hair with another towel. I lay down on my bed, but I couldn't shake off the thoughts of Emily. Her worried face kept haunting me, and a small, unexpected desire surged within me to check on her, to see if she was okay.

I grabbed my phone and dialed Victor. After a few rings, he picked up.

"Yes, sir?"

"How is her aunt?"

"She's not in good condition, sir, but I called our personal doctor. He checked her and advised her to rest."

"Umm... Victor, how is Emily?"

"She's sitting beside her aunt and looking worried."

"Did she eat anything?"
