Chapter 10 - IMAGINATION

EVELYN'S POV

I waited until I heard the door close behind my mother before returning hastily to the mirror. She was off to God-knows where but that wasn't important now. What was important was the way her voice resonated in my head.

I fondled my breasts; my mother's touch in the kitchen had been unsettling, to say the least. But then, I felt nothing and so I discarded the thoughts and prepared for the day.

I had to get ready for shopping if I really wanted to explore the comfort it always gave me. I slipped out of my nightdress and walked naked around the room aimlessly for a while before heading to the bathroom.

'With the whole house to myself, why not enjoy the freedom?' I thought to myself.

I stepped into the bathroom and under the shower, thinking about whether to set the water temperature based on my mood or the weather. I decided to settle for a lukewarm temperature, the perfect middle ground.

As the water cascaded over me, I enjoyed feeling it gave and soon let my mind drift. Suddenly, I felt a burning sensation on my skin. At first, I thought someone was messing with the water temperature so I looked around me and realized I was alone, but the burning intensified, and a twitch in my muscles made me look at my skin.

"Oh no no no! This can't be happening now," I whispered when I realized I was shifting.

The heat passed through my body and panic rose as my muscles twitched uncontrollably. I closed my eyes as I felt the desperate need for a mate to help me through the transition. I imagined Lucas walking into the bathroom and gripping me from behind.

The imagery was so clear that I could feel his hands on my shoulders just like when he held me in his condo, his manhood pressed into my behind as he guided me through the shift and while we both savored the moment.

I gasped as my eyes fluttered wide open, but I didn't see anyone. The sensation was overwhelming and I felt myself lost in it. As I closed my eyes, Lucas appeared again, this time, his hands slid up from my waist to my breasts as he fondled them tenderly. My breath hitched as I leaned back into his embrace, the heat within me growing with a hot mist warming up between my legs, ready to consume me. I didn't know when I turned to kiss Lucas, a kiss that was almost tangible when he grabbed my behind as I moaned softly. My fantasies were intense and quite intoxicating, but then, the burning sensation was more bearable now because of the pleasure I was feeling.

Just as I was getting lost in the fantasy, my phone rang, jerking me back to reality.

'Damn the caller,' I cursed in my mind.

Without giving it much thought, I switched off the shower and walked into my dressing room dripping wet. I reached for my phone and picked it up.

"Hey Evelyn," a baritone voice came through. It was Lucas and that instantly fascinated me.

"Hi, you," I replied calmly, still caught in my fantasy.

"Thank the stars you finally decided to pick up my calls," Lucas said, "It's been a day already but it feels like forever."

I didn't respond but sadly looked at my body as it returned to normal.

"Hello, are you there?" Lucas inquired.

"Uhm... Yeah," I responded, "I'm kinda busy right now."

"Alright, I won't take much of your time," he said, "I know you're mad at me and I'm truly sorry for what happened at my place the other day. Can you give me a chance to explain?"

'Oh! How I wish he knew what I was thinking about that day or what I feel now,' I thought to myself.

"What exactly do you want to explain?" I asked.

Lucas hesitated. "Can we talk over lunch? Nothing romantic, I promise. Also, I've signed the agreement with your firm, I just want to activate the 50% bonus. So let's say it's a business date. Please you owe me that much," he said in one breath.

"Alright, but not today," I said, " My mother asked me to go shopping for her at the mall."

"How about a brunch?" Lucas suggested, "I really need to see you today because the full moon is coming soon."

"What's up with you and the full moon?" I asked irritatedly, my body was already getting dry and I was fast losing my patience.

"Okay, let's forget the full moon," Lucas said, "Let's say I get the 50% discount, and, of course, I get to see you, please, if you'd grant me the honors."

"Alright," I said. My stomach rumbled, reminding me that I was getting hungry already too, "Let's say I agree to a brunch, but I'm giving you just thirty minutes of my time, understood? I need to shop for my Mom, like I said."

I had yet to see my mother's list but I was sure it was going to be long, I always get a long one each time. Then again, I wanted to maintain control over the situation.

"No problem at all. I'm okay with that," Lucas said, "So when will I see you?"

I looked at the clock on my phone. It was already past ten, so I did some mental calculations. "Meet me in front of my office complex in 45 minutes."

"No problem, see you soon," Lucas said before dropping the call.

I stared at the phone, wondering what kind of mess I was getting myself into, or rather, what mess I had already found myself in. The heat from the near-shift still lingered in my muscles.

I turned to pick up the towel and I caught a glimpse of myself in the bathroom glass. What if I couldn't control it next time?

I looked at the clock and quickly started dressing up. Thoughts of Lucas flooded my mind because my body still tingled from the remnants of the fantasy I just had.

I finished dressing and headed out. I picked up my mother's list from the table in the living room and like I predicted, the list was very long.

The drive to the office was a blur, but I knew that when I parked my car, Lucas was nowhere to be found. I stepped out of her car and checked the time. 'He should've been here by now.' I thought to myself.

Just as I was about to get frustrated, I brought out my phone to call Lucas. Suddenly, I felt a presence behind me. Spinning around, I found myself in front of a shadowy figure, the sun obscured my view. My heart was pounding as I wondered who it could be.

Then, cutting through the tension like a knife, I heard a familiar voice calling from behind the figure.

"Evelyn!" the voice called out, "I'm over here."
