'Treasure box G Red: Open? Y/N'
'Treasure crate G Orange: Open? Y/N'
'Treasure chest G Yellow: Open? Y/N'
He identified each of the chests just to double check what they were. He chose yes on the yellow chest and watched as it zoomed toward him before opening it in his face. He was offered three options and he considered his options slightly before choosing. The first was a large amount of stats. He imagined it would be quite a large amount since this was a yellow grade treasure chest. The second option was for another random generation of an item.
Jaycee had his fill of the items for now and instead settled on the third option. Upgrade skill. As he chose it he felt an upgrade token appear in his stat screen. Immediately his attention was pulled to the two other rewards that appeared as they ended up being the Free Points (FP) choice. The glowing picture of FP floated into Jaycee as an extra 29 FP appeared in his stat screen. Speaking of FP, Jaycee already had 35 FP he hadn't spent from leveling up. He went into his stats and pulled them up.
His first step was to take 30 and put ten each into his struggling stats. He knew that specializing as a mage took on a degree of being very vulnerable. But he was way too glass cannon to survive much longer. So he put 10 into Toughness, Vitality, and Endurance.
They needed to be strengthened for Jaycee to not feel constantly at fear. The last 34 Jaycee thought he would use to still increase his power. So he put 18 into Intelligence to make it a round 100. The last 16 was split between Perception and Willpower.
Strength: 20
Agility: 30
Endurance: 31
Vitality: 32
Toughness: 30
Wisdom: 58
Intelligence: 114
Perception: 73
Willpower: 70
Free points: 8
Class Level:26
Race Level: 14
Profession Level: 3
He looked at the skill upgrade token but decided to wait for later. A prompt came up asking him if he was ready to exit this weird middle dimension. All of his resources had refilled and he felt good as new despite the strenuous past few hours. Selecting he was ready, he felt a tug in his stomach as he stumbled in the grass.
They appeared outside the actual temple as the invisible wall blocking the entrance disappeared. The defeat of the dungeon for the first time will unlock the area inside the temple. Inside would be a lot of gear and rations and things for large groups of people. Jaycee looked to Percy as everyone gathered themselves.
The group who had followed after the knight had chased him into a room where they were horrified. The knight had been gathering the dead bodies from all the carnage the other intruders were causing. He had stacked it all into one mountain of bodies where he performed a ritual. He imbued himself with the powerful death energy building up from the bodies.
He became a raging beast but Percy used the final card Jaycee had always suspected he had. Percy's ultimate ability, in a similar way firestorm was Jaycee's final attack, essentially empowered Percy and his allies around him and kept them fighting with great efficiency. However once the skill is activated it pushes each individual to they limit where they drained stamina until they passed out.
Jaycee saw the greatness in it and was slightly annoyed it hadn't reached him. It would've been a lot easier to deal with the woman if he had been powered up. Eventually after talking about the outcome of the dungeon, Farrah split up from their group and they turned into two sides.
She beckoned her people over and discussed privately. A few minutes later she came back to Percy. "We've seen your leadership ability. We are willing to merge groups under your leadership though we will require multiple seats of power among your top officials." Farrah said.
Percy smiled and nodded. "Yes we can talk details. But there's a lot of gear here and I'd rather try and move quickly. I don't want to get screwed over by some other group waiting for the gear. How about you return to your camp, and get your people to migrate here. This temple is more than big enough and it has all this space around it that's pretty flat. Since you're closer you should get here as fast as possible, use the resources to strengthen yourselves, and when I can get our population to move over here we will merge and have a reelection." Percy said.
It was a risky move. He was essentially giving her a ton of power in their situation to show his genuineness. Assuming she still chose him he would be strengthening himself and creating a more equal group dynamic. It wouldn't work if Farrah didn't see a future with Percy as her leader in the tutorial. She looked at him curiously before turning around and taking her team with her.
Jaycee shrugged and began looking at his surroundings. The temple was made of beautiful worn and grey stone and rose up 6 stories. The large trees around the clearing filtered the sun through the leaves making a pretty array of lights on the temple. "Pretty,"Jaycee said to himself. He smiled and turned to Lady who was looking at him curiously.
The leaves parted, letting some sun shine on his face. His caramel skin shone as the bright smile burned a picture in Lady's mind. Percy glanced at Jaycee before speaking up. "We're done here. Now we just need to stand guard here for an hour while she gets some people over here. Their camp is only a 10 minute run from here so it shouldn't be long. Jaycee, I'm sure you have your own plans?" Percy said.
Jaycee nodded. "Yep. Just going to work under Olaf. I'm interested in seeing if time passed the same way." He said.
"Alright well, just be safe." Percy said as he waved bye.
"What? He's just going to go back by himself?" Zeke said. Jaycee ignored them as he took off on a run through the foliage. Lady seemed to have a weird relationship with the group. She identified Percy as her leader, but also doesn't seem to care much for the group. Yet still she stood next to Percy as Jaycee darted off into the distance.
Jaycee could avoid all of the beasts with his stealth technique. He had improved it marginally but still it did the job well enough. As long as he was extra careful, he could make it back to camp in a timely manner. He asked around for how many hours ago Percy had left and found they had only been gone a couple hours or so.
So, the time spent during the dungeon was about double the time that had passed in the tutorial. When he got back, he went straight to Olaf. Olaf was surprised with him returning already and smiled through his bushy mustache. He had a ponytail of graying blond hair and a large bushy mustache and a short beard. His forearms had worn tattoos and scars along them.
His eyes were squinty and he seemed short tempered. "Back already huh?" He said as he stood and walked back into his teepee. He beckoned Jaycee to come. Jaycee hopped over a pot full of some sort of substance and followed the older man back. "How were those tools treating you?" He asked.
Jaycee shrugged while pulling them out of his satchel. "Well enough. Hard to tell because my product is so bad right now." He said.
Olaf raised an eyebrow as he took the tools and inspected them. "You didn't scuff the tools so you're doing good enough in my opinion. Show me some products." Olaf said. Jaycee nodded and pulled out a skin and some hooves and horns from the elk they had encountered. "This…is fucking awful. What'd you remove this antler with, a pickaxe? This hide is okay right now. Definitely skewed in a few places, clearly applied too much pressure with the scraper here. These hooves are decent but look here." Olaf beckoned Jaycee closer.
"You're cutting way too straight and rigid. See you shaved some of the hoof material reducing the strength of the hoof. Overall it was bad. But they aren't that bad. A pretty good showing for a first timer." Olaf finished and clasped Jaycee on the shoulder.
A huge sense of relief flooded Jaycee as he heard the news. If he had been worse than the average person he would have not been happy. The large hairy man patted a seat next to him. "Come sit. Let me show you where is better. Then later I'll take you out and give you a demonstration." Olaf said. Jaycee shrugged while sitting and focusing on the man's teachings.
