Chereads / Obsessed With My Toxic Lover / Chapter 5 - (Meeting Ryan's past)

Chapter 5 - (Meeting Ryan's past)

Tatiana's point of view

Six weeks living in the Walters mansion and my whole life has been oblivious of the word "Happiness." He never ceased to torment me privately, worst of all I had developed feelings for him.

Despite how horrible he treated me, I fell deeply in love with him. I'd stare at him and fantasize over his sharp features.

"We'd be traveling to France soon for a business project ," My father in-law began, his gaze darting between me and Ryan.

I felt my heart skip a bit. My father in-law had always been protective and Ryan never seemed to like it. Mr Walters made sure I got everything I needed, even when Ryan would kick against it. He made the hell I lived in a home. His absence would really mean alot to me, and I was sure Ryan would torment the living daylight out of me.

I swallowed hard, my mouth dry.

"Ryan would be in management of my company," he finalized, taking a sip of the amber liquid he had in his cup and rising on his feet.

Everyone dispersed and I stood on my feet, walking into the kitchen to fix something I'd eat. I couldn't help but notice the large appetite I've got for the past few weeks and my rapid body change.

I toasted the bread and just as I was about to apply some jam on the edges of the brown bread, I subconsciously slipped. Before I could fall to the ground, strong arms grabbed me by the waist in the mid air. Just then, I felt the beating of my heart increase as I stared at his hazel eyes, our eyes locking for a brief moment.

Every bit of me wanted him, and I hated myself for being that vulnerable to him despite all he had done.

"Next time you fall, don't fall on me," he glared at me, releasing me from his grip. I bowed my head slightly and apologized, my vision fixated on the floor.

"I'm sorry," I apologize, but he ignored me, walking past me like he didn't even hear me.

Just like we had planned for the day, I and Ryan would be going to the supermarket to buy some things for my mother in-law who would be traveling with my father in-law.

I slipped into a slightly fitted gown which clung to my curves like a second skin, just then, I noticed the little bump on my stomach and how tight the dress was on me.

I let out a deep sigh, walking out of the mansion with Ryan and into his ride. Just as Ryan had mentioned, I wasn't supposed to sit close to him in the car simply because I disgusted him. I sat in the passenger's seat as the world blurred past.

The cool air hit my face as I stepped in through the glass door, my eyes taking in the beauty of the shopping mall. I hadn't been to one, my stepmother wouldn't let me leave the house except for school.

"You don't have to stare that hard. Get the things you can think would be needed," Ryan warned, his voice breaking into my thoughts.

I walked over to the jewelry store and picked some beautiful jewelry which shimmered the rays of light.

"That one looks good on you," a voice whispered behind me. I whirled around, staring at the lady. She was a blonde, had the body of a model and a piercing ocean blue eyes.

"Excuse me?" I asked politely, raising my brow.

"That jewelry right there looks good on you. By the way, I'm Kyle," she said, stretching her gloved hand to me. I hesitated for a while before extending mine.

"I'm Tatiana. But my friends call me Bella," I replied with a warm smile which didn't even reach my eyes.

Strangely, the strange lady I met seemed really interesting and she helped in picking a few things for my mother in-law.

"I've got to get my husband to pay the bills," I said. Just as I was about to walk away, she called my attention.

"I don't think that'd be necessary. I'd pay the bills," she offered politely.

I paused, narrowed my gaze for a split second and stared at her. Why would she offer to pay? We barely met like seconds ago.

"You don't need to do that," I declined politely, but the lady insisted.

"Let's just say, we'd use this to mark our friendship." she said. She walked over to the counter and paid off the price with a swipe of her debit card.

"Why don't you come meet my husband? He'd be happy to meet you," I suggested, but surprisingly she shook her head, slowly stepping backwards.

"Maybe next time?" she asked. I tried to reach her, but she disappeared into the crowd, leaving me stunned. I never believed nice people actually did exist in this part of the country.

I walked over to Ryan who was on a call and for a moment, didn't notice me. After what seemed like an eternity, the call ended.

"Done shopping?" he asked, looking above my shoulders. I gave him a nod and he dipped his hand into his pocket to bring out his debit card.

"That has been taken care of," I said with a smile, reaching for his hand. He shot me a glare and I recoiled my hand instinctively. Everything about the way he stared at me screamed disgust.

"By who?" he asked, raising his brow.

"I met a lady at the store and she identified herself as Kyle. I…" the words barely left my lips when he interrupted.

"Kyle?!" he called, his face pale. All the emotions; disgust and anger which were etched on his face completely dried up, replaced by fear. It looked as if the word struck a nerve.

"Yes. She seemed nice," I stammered a bit, taken aback by his slight outburst.

"I bet she is. Where did she go?" He asked almost inquisitively, a hint of urgency laced in his voice.

"I think she walked in that direction," I replied, still unsure while he was this interested in the stranger.

 Ryan's point of view

Kyle. I knew she'd definitely be lurking around somewhere ever since I told her to abort the baby and she ghosted me. What was her plan? I had told her to stay away, that we were done for good.

I walked through the buzzing crowd, my gaze shifting from side to side as I searched for her. Whatever pranks she was trying to play, I bet it won't be funny. She was out of my life for good.

"Meet me at the restroom," a notification popped on my screen. It was from an anonymous number and I was certain it was Kyle.

I took a deep breath, walking over to the men's restroom and saw her, her hourglass shape stealing my gaze.

"Ryan!" she exclaimed, her voice sweet as she wrapped her arms around me, pressing close enough to catch the scent of her perfume. It was the same scent I'd once found irresistible. Now, it only reminded me of the mistakes I thought I'd buried.

"What do you want with Bella?" I asked, keeping a straight face, my voice cold.

She walked away from me a little bit, her brow furrowing and her perfect lips folding into a thin line.

"You aren't excited to see me? Because you've managed to settle with a countryside girl?" she asked, a hint of disappointment and anger in her voice. Bella wasn't even a girl of my status, but that doesn't mean she'd get disrespected by people. Even if she wasn't worth the respect, the name "Walters" attached to her name should definitely command respect.

"What exactly do you want, Kyle?!" I asked, the tone of my voice increasing.

She bit her lips seductively, walking towards me, her polished nail walking across my broad chest as she leaned close, placing a kiss on my lips and biting it like her life depended on it.

"You."
