Elias rusted on a green path of the maze. The runic signs were lit on the side with vivid colors indicating the right direction. The dark-colored eerie trees with bent trunks, rustled in the gentle wind.
" Now, it is the moment to check what the system gave me as the reward." He thought as he turned his head onto Ren and Lily, to see if they were already in a deep sleep.
He thought of the reward, and the system notification appeared.
[ System notification:

" Yes!" he whispered under his breath.
The air around him shimmered as a bright large ring made of gold materialized in front of him. The ring hovered above him, rotating slowly, emitting a golden aura pushing away the eerie darkness swirling around him.

Elias brushed his fingers over the ring. The weapon hummed softly as if it had acknowledged him as its owner. The Big red crystal orb glowed lightly, as it pulsed with energy, ready to unleash anytime its owner wanted.
" Nice. I don't know why it is, but I feel like I have wielded it before." Elias muttered as he felt strangely comfortable, just only touching it.
As if it had understood everything, the ring sprang up and positioned itself behind his head.
Elias tried to turn his head, but the ring never allowed him, as it continued to stay behind his head.
" Wow, I feel like a car's headlight is behind me, illuminating everything in front of me."
Whenever he turned his head right, the ring moved to the left, following the back of his head.
" Well, I can say only one thing. I have never seen such a weapon in my life. Not even in movies or web novels!"
[ System notification]
The familiar melodic tone of the system once again rang.
[ Weapon Test:
System's advice: "The strongest warrior isn't the one with the sharpest weapon, but the one who knows every inch of it."
The system suggests you to test your weapon first, as constant testing and practising with this weapon is crucial in battle.
Do you want to start a simulation? Y/N]
" Oh? System have this function too? That's wonderful!" Elias exclaimed before accepting it.
The air around him once again shimmered, as the fake began to overlay on the truth.
Elias found himself once again in the middle of the dark, thick fog he had encountered earlier.
" Ah shit! Not this again." He sighed as five serpent-like creatures surrounded him floating in between the clouds made of fog.
The Viperclouds with their glowing eyes, hissed at him showing their fangs covered in green poison.
Elias tried to grab the weapon, rotating behind him, but it didn't come off. The ring oddly remained glued to its earlier position denying Elias' grasp.
" What the fuck? Why aren't you moving! Just do something!" He screamed as a ball of poison darted at him.
He jumped to his left barely avoiding it but still he got some damage.
His hair was burnt and his clothes were smoking as the poison had brushed past him.
" System! How can I activate this?" He yelled trying his best to avoid the five tails crashing down on him.
The moment he said the word: Activate, Elias felt the ring hummed in life as a violent golden aura exploded pushing the beasts away from him.
Elias blinked at this sudden development, as ther ring moved forward positioning in front of him.
[ Beep…
'Halo of Lumina' is activated.
Initiating demo mode…
Successful.
]
Suddenly the ring engulfed in a bright silver flame, glistening like a second moon between the clouds made of fog.
Elias grinned as the ring began to rotate violently, in response to the snakes' angry hisses.
The vipercloudes lunged all together throwing their bodies at the rotating ring.
Halo of Lumina, rumbled as if asking, " How dare you attack me? Do I look like some pushover?"
" What am I even thinking? A weapon, which can talk? No way, right?" Elias shook his head, waving off the absurd thoughts voiced in his head.
The ring began to rotate in a perpendicular axis as the viperclouds hit, spiraling them out of its way in all directions.
The viperclouds crashed all over around the place, shrieking violently in pain.
And in the next second, the red orb in its body began to glow violently in silver, shooting a thin beam of light energy.
The beam hit the nearest Vipercloud, exactly in its spot between the two eyes. The beast's snake widened as it shot past his entire body.
For a moment everything was still.
And then the miracle happened.
The vipercloud shrieked violently, smoke leaking out from the spot where the beam hit, as it rolled around in pain.
And then the entire body exploded to dust, forming a cloud of smoke.
" Badass, this… this is too op!" Elias exclaimed.
But before he could speak more, the remaining four beasts regrouped, this time keeping their distance away from the weapon.
Out of four monsters the two at the corners lunged at the weapon, coming from different directions.
The other two – which were in the middle, opened their mouths shooting two poisonous balls one at the weapon and the other at…
" Fuck! They still remember me? Aren't they too intelligent for some low level beasts?"
Elias had encountered a few high level beasts in the astral realm. And he knew what they were capable of. But he never thought some damn foggy snakes would have a level of intelligence almost comparable to that of humans.
But when he was about to shoot a blast of light energy at the oncoming fatal poisonous foggy ball, the ring disappeared and appeared in front of him.
It vibrated violently, revealing its hate for attacking his master.
And it fired another thin thread-like light beam piercing both the poison ball and the head of the beast who fired it.
The beast exploded in a shriek of pain.
The two beasts who attacked the weapon from different sides pulled to opposite directions barely hitting each other.
Once again the viperclouds regrouped, this time in a different position. The three stood in an arrow-like formation as their bodies began to emit smoke.
No, not smoke. It was…
[ Beep…
Warning the enemy viperclouds are deploying a fog screen made of poison.
Proceed with caution.
]
The system's warning notification blinked rapidly, glowing in red, urging him to act immediately.
[ The demo mode is over.
Please use it on your own.]
" Damn it! Are you kidding me? Why did it have to be now?"
Elias gritted his teeth with clenched fists looking at the moving screen of poison covering him in all directions, cutting off all his retreat routes.
"Huh! You wanna see me dying that hard, right? Forgive me, I'm not gonna entertain you with that!" He yelled, waving his fists at the sky.
" Focus Elias, focus. Concentrate, that's it." He screamed, noticing the gradual reduction of the ring's golden glow and the rotation speed.
There was no way, the knowledge he gained by reading web novels was wrong this time. It saved his life from poison once and he was sure there was a second time too.
He concentrated as hard as he could, forming an image of the ring, glowing brightly in golden colour engulfed in silver flames.
The ring once again hummed into life, its rotating speed skyrocketing as silver flames began to dance on its frame.
" I made it!" Elias sighed in satisfaction.
He saw the screen closing a few feets away from him, as the snakes began to enclose him in a circle changing their position.
The moment he saw this his thoughts began to wander, breaking his concentration on controlling the weapon.
The Halo of Lumina dimmed immediately, its rotation slowing down before coming to an abrupt halt.
" Shit! This is not the time to wander around! Get your ass together!" Elias screamed frustrated about himself for not being able to focus.
But he immediately calmed himself taking a deep breath, closing his eyes.
Once again he concentrated as hard as he could, imagining the same image inside his mind.
