Chapter 1 - The evening ( Reunite)

Another day passed waiting for her, and now it was time; finally, the long wait was near its end.

Through all this time, it was just the strength of her smile that gave him the power to survive and finally meet her. His eyes were lost in memories from the past, his cheeks lifting frequently with the excitement of meeting again. His lips were pressing inward, crushed between his teeth.

A soft orange color was covering the whole path, and the light sound of wind touching the top of the lake passed through his ear. Looking at his shadow, he turned his head, imagining her in it, and smiled with a blush. He heard the sound of a train and realized that finally, his charm must have reached the station, and it was time to meet her again.

In the silence of the evening, the waiting lover stood by the lake bank, anticipating his love. He thought back to all those moments he spent dreaming of this reunion, rehearsing in his mind the many conversations he wanted to have. Just then, some soft footsteps made a noise, and with a quickened heartbeat, he turned around… and forgot everything, because after so long, he finally saw his loved one.

It was as if time had stopped for them both. She was lost seeing him, and they started walking towards each other with quick steps… only 4 steps away… 3 steps… 2 steps… 1 step… and then the fast steps stopped in front of each other. Only staring, looking deep into each other's eyes, both smiling, and an excited laugh escaping. With a trembling hand, he took her soft hands in his, and all emotions burst out. They hugged, her legs lifting in the air, her body overlapping his.

She tightened her hands around him, and they both felt each other's presence. The warmth they shared in that soft yet tight hug was not just a heartbeat but true emotions. After staying in each other's arms, her face felt the touch of his, and she slowly opened her eyes, whispering in the ear of the one she had waited for so long, "I missed you so much." He tightened his hands around her. Then, to look deep into her eyes, he slowly put her down and brought her close to his gaze.

She could see her reflection in his watery eyes; emotions from the long wait were flooding over. Sensing his love and emotions behind those eyes, she smiled with closed lips, a slight jerk in her shoulder. He could not even properly open his lips—how could he, when so many words and emotions filled his heart? He was too absorbed in seeing his wait come to a beautiful end.
