Kyra stared blankly into nothingness. Her mind was a complete mess at James' words. Even after twenty minutes had passed, the young woman had yet to regain herself. She really couldn't recall any promises made with James.
Last night? She thought to herself. Didn't I fall asleep the whole night after the meds? Grandpa and grandma said so. I couldn't even wake up when they came in.
Her mind wasn't able to wrap around this mess. She was seriously doubting James rather than herself. However, the man had insisted that she had indeed agreed to date him. Although she couldn't confirm it, she believed in her own judgment. How could she be so agreeable and joyfully accept him with neither consequences nor condition?
Despite her painfully existing feelings that refused to disappear, the man had done much worse for her to easily give him a free pass. They had indeed talked the other night but it did not end on a pleasant note.
