Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Now I Am the Class President

It was actually not that difficult to arrange for Hu Linyu to become the Youth League Secretary. Every class needs a class president and a Youth League Secretary, and although Hu Linyu lost to Chen Han Sheng in the race for class president, she still had a certain base of support among her classmates.

So when Chen Han Sheng suggested that Hu Linyu take the position of Youth League Secretary to Guo Zhongyun, the counselor agreed without hesitation. There wasn't even a need for a class meeting or election. While the two "politicians" were making deals, Shen Youchu, who was sitting across from Chen Han Sheng, dared not wait for him to feed her any longer. She decided to eat a few big shrimp on her own, then anxiously put down her chopsticks and said, "I'm... full."

Chen Han Sheng gave a nonchalant "mm," slowly guiding Shen Youchu to consume more meat to improve her physical health, starting with fish and shrimp. He was cautious about introducing her to heavier foods as her digestive system might not handle them well yet.

Hu Linyu, who initially planned to give Chen Han Sheng a hard time, found herself unable to muster any appetite after his persuasion. Eventually, unable to resist the temptation of being selected for the Youth League Secretary position, she agreed. However, she gave a serious warning: "Chen Han Sheng, don't fool me."

"How could I? I've always been sincere with you," Chen Han Sheng replied with a grin.

Dealing with a shameless rogue like Chen Han Sheng left Hu Linyu feeling defeated. She grabbed Shen Youchu, hastily leaving, leaving behind a table full of delicious food.

Chen Han Sheng didn't intend to limit himself to the position of class president; that was just a stepping stone. In the end, he planned to leave the role to someone more suitable.

As for Hu Linyu, she wasn't losing out entirely. If she could learn even a fraction of Chen Han Sheng's "rogue" spirit, she would be better equipped to navigate the system in the future without facing too many setbacks.

That evening, Chen Han Sheng, in a good mood, bought two bottles of beer from the canteen, leisurely finishing the meat dishes on the table. By the time he walked out of the canteen, it was already 8 PM.

The summer evening at the Financial College was still lively, with many senior sisters wearing shorts, showing off their long legs. When passing the artificial lake on campus, he noticed a few pairs of shadows hidden in the bushes. A mischievous thought crossed his mind, and after tossing out a toothpick, he suddenly yelled, "The inspection department teachers are coming, run!"

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh."

Seeing the students flee in a panic, Chen Han Sheng burst into laughter, unconcerned with the curses being thrown at him, walking confidently under the soft moonlight.

When he returned to his dorm, he found a group of boys gathered, with some engaged in a heated argument. Among them, Guo Shaoqiang and Zhu Chenglong were arguing the most fiercely. Guo Shaoqiang immediately pulled Chen Han Sheng over and said, "Old Four, you decide for us. Zhu Chenglong is saying Bai Yongshan has a higher score than Shang Yanyan, but if we consider factors like body, temperament, and style, Shang Yanyan is still ahead by 0.73 points."

Zhu Chenglong was having none of it, retorting with spittle flying, "Shang Yanyan is indeed pretty, but Bai Yongshan is the cute type, and that counts for extra points."

"Extra points my ass! My rating system has scientific reasoning; it can't be changed arbitrarily!" Guo Shaoqiang yelled.

"Fuck! What's so scientific about it? You just made it up!" Zhu Chenglong fired back.

The two were red-faced, each with their own supporters, demanding that Chen Han Sheng give a fair ruling.

"Cutie and beauty don't mean anything when it comes to sex appeal." Chen Han Sheng laughed and pushed them aside as he grabbed a water basin and headed to the bathroom.

After his shower, when Chen Han Sheng returned, the heated debate over which girl had the highest score was long forgotten. Instead, the group was now gathered around playing a game of "trump cards."

The next morning, it was back to the tedious routine of military training. This monotonous life continued for a week until the freshman training ended with a 20-kilometer march, marking the official start of university life. True to his word, Chen Han Sheng did indeed promote Hu Linyu to the position of Youth League Secretary.

At first, Hu Linyu considered thanking him, but soon realized it wasn't quite worth it. After all, she still felt like the one who had lost out. So, she silently took on the responsibility of handling the class's daily affairs.

Nearly all universities in Su Dong Province held their military training at the same time, and once the training at Financial College ended, other universities such as Donghai University, the University of Science and Technology, and the Aerospace Academy wrapped up theirs as well.

With two days of break left, many students chose to meet up with their high school friends to discuss their training experiences, complain about quirky roommates, and share stories of their new lives.

The group from Hong Kong City was no different. Wang Zibo, Gao Jialiang, and a few others from Xian Ning University City met up at Yiwu Commodity Center, where they were hosted by Chen Han Sheng and Xiao Rongyu.

The routine was the same: chatting, eating, and touring the school. Wang Zibo was especially happy to see his friends and, despite Chen Han Sheng's reluctance, he insisted on giving him a hug. He was even more pleased that everyone had gotten a little darker after the military training, even the "Little Goldfish" goddess, Xiao Rongyu, had a faint tan.

However, as they sat on the grass at Financial College, Wang Zibo suddenly became downcast.

Chen Han Sheng, surprised, asked, "What's with that long face? What's bothering you?"

Wang Zibo hesitated, then sighed, "Xiao Chen, you're a full man, not a hungry one. Our class has 62 students, but only 2 girls. It feels like I've entered a monk's temple. I should have applied to Financial College too."

"How are the two girls?" Chen Han Sheng asked.

Wang Zibo pondered for a moment, then looked at Chen Han Sheng with a conflicted expression.

Chen Han Sheng immediately understood and gave him an encouraging pat on the shoulder.

Gao Jialiang, ever eager to show off in front of Xiao Rongyu, seized the opportunity and solemnly added, "Zibo, you shouldn't think like that. We're here to study, not to chase girls."

This guy's from the Aerospace Academy, where they even have a flight attendant major, and those girls were all incredibly beautiful, so Gao Jialiang wasn't short on eye candy.

Wang Zibo scoffed, not wanting to bother with Gao Jialiang.

But Gao Jialiang kept pressing, criticizing Chen Han Sheng, "Han Sheng, can you sit up properly? Your legs are up on that stone, haven't you considered that Rongyu is right here?"

Chen Han Sheng, always sitting however he liked, was naturally putting his feet up on the stone. Hearing Gao Jialiang's complaint, he simply gave him a sidelong glance.

And then, in an unexpected move, he not only kept his feet up but even took off his shoes, letting his big toe stretch out and provocatively wiggle.

Wang Zibo couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. "When can I be as carefree as Xiao Chen?"

"Such a rogue," Gao Jialiang muttered, unable to stop him.

Xiao Rongyu, unsure whether to laugh or not, decided to play peacemaker, saying, "Since we're all here together, why don't we talk about what we've gained so far?"

Gao Jialiang's eyes lit up. Knowing Chen Han Sheng wasn't exactly well-liked by his peers, he quickly proposed, "Since we're in Financial College, let's let the host speak first. Han Sheng, you can lead the discussion."

Chen Han Sheng, who had just lit a cigarette, exhaled a smoke ring leisurely.

"I'm the class president now," he said, grinning.
