A Successful Day
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, Li Mei looked around at her booth. She had sold a large portion of her inventory, and the villagers were beginning to recognize her as someone who could provide genuine remedies. There was a growing sense of trust in her work, and she felt a deep sense of accomplishment.
Her booth had become a hub of activity, with people coming and going, eager to try her salves, tinctures, and herbal teas. Some villagers even lingered, chatting with her and offering words of encouragement. By the end of the day, she had sold almost all her ginseng tinctures, herbal teas, and salves, earning more than she had ever hoped for.
As she began packing up her booth, Auntie Lu—the elderly woman who had been the first to buy from her—returned, carrying a basket of freshly picked herbs.
"You did well today, Li Mei," Auntie Lu said with a smile. "These villagers have seen your work, and I think they'll be back for more. You have a gift."
Li Mei's heart swelled with gratitude. "Thank you, Auntie. I never thought it would go this well."
Auntie Lu nodded. "You'll go far with your knowledge and your heart. I can see you're going to make a real difference in this village."
Li Mei nodded, overwhelmed by the support she had received. She had made her first sale, but it felt like she had achieved so much more. She had taken the first step toward building a future that was her own.
