18: Gathering the Seeds and Choosing the Herbs

Li Mei begins by gathering seeds she had foraged during her time in the forest. She selects the following:

Mountain Ginseng: Known for its healing properties, it is highly valued for strengthening the immune system, reducing fatigue, and promoting general health. It's also used in creating powerful tonics. However, finding Mountain Ginseng is no easy feat. The plant only grows in deep, shaded forest areas, and it requires specific conditions—cool temperatures and undisturbed soil. The plants are rare, often guarded by wild creatures or hidden in difficult-to-reach areas. When Li Mei first learned of its location, she had to venture into the heart of the forest, scale steep cliffs, and navigate through thick, tangled undergrowth. After hours of searching, she finally found a small cluster of Mountain Ginseng hidden under the roots of an ancient tree, its leaves barely visible in the shadows.

Red Sage: A herb used in traditional medicine to balance blood circulation, reduce inflammation, and calm internal heat. Red sage also has a delicate fragrance, and Li Mei plans to use it to create soothing teas.

Golden Herb: A rare, mystical herb that she noticed growing near the mystical space's pond. It's known to have regenerative properties and can accelerate healing when used in salves or drinks.

Jade Leaf: A common yet powerful herb in the mystical world, often used in concoctions for strength and endurance. Li Mei has already used it in small quantities for her personal healing and now wants to grow it in abundance.

Moonlight Blossom: A delicate herb that grows best under the moon's glow, it is known for its calming effects and ability to induce restful sleep. Li Mei plans to grow this near her small home to help ease the long nights of uncertainty.

Each herb has its own space in Li Mei's garden, with larger herbs like Mountain Ginseng planted at the back to prevent them from being overshadowed by the smaller Moonlight Blossoms in front.
