Chapter 12 - Chapter Twelve

"What's happening here?" She whispered, the strength to scream had sipped away from her. Her eyes wide at the woman on the floor shaking murmuring incoherent speech like a real crazy woman. Every one surrounded her like she was up for sacrifice. She sat on her haunches ready to touch her but at that moment a doctor rushed in breathing hard.

"Don't try it young lady" he stood in front of her by the side of her mom "she is not okay right now. You don't want to get bitten, do you?"

Mitchelle's eyes shone with anger, he was literally calling her mother mad, maybe a dog even. With a hard voice, not caring to know if she came off rude she almost yelled "my mom is not a dog"

"I never said she was a dog" the doctor muttered under his breath but everyone heard it. She stood up facing him "I pay for you to take care of her and tend to her needs, everything. Here you are, calling your patient mad. I guess this hospital is not as prestigious as I thought it was"

The doctor breathed out, "that is not what I meant when I said, you should move away from her. She is your mother of course but you see here miss your mother here has bitten a nurse. So we take immense care, do you hear me?" He turned to the nurses watching them silently "take her back to her bed" he ordered and they tensed which made him turn back to mitchelle with a sigh "this was what I was talking about, she is dangerous"

Mitchelle's head couldn't contain all what she heard about her mom, the trauma wouldn't have gone too far, would it?. That was a question she knew she can't answer herself. Still lost in her world, she faintly heard when he said they should sedate her mother in order to put on the bed.

Hot simmering tears fell down her face to her clothes, everything was falling. She knew it. Her mom could die any day in here. Maybe kill herself by mistake or run off the door and accidentally get run over by a car if not watched regularly. Too many thoughts on ways she could die swam through her head.

Hours later, her mom was asleep after getting sedated and her treatment. She knew her say won't matter on this, she was harmful and biting someone was off the term on this. Tucking a strand of hair behind her mother's ear while she lay on the bed, her lips quivering, she sniffled. The thought that one day while she was working she would get a call that…

"Please mom, stay safe for me. Please" she cried, her heart was breaking every single day seeing her mother in this condition. And then the perpetrators were walking around freely after destroying a family. "Just give me a little time, I promise they will pay for what they did to you and dad, everyone would surely pay" she proclaimed with spite.

"You are late" mason raised his hands up to his face gazing at his watch. He had parked outside from her house minutes ago, knocking on the door and no response, tried calling her yet no answer. He knew the way he had talked to her was harsh but he was her boss. She signed up for this, not him.

"Went out to get something," Mitchelle answered, not looking at him. Her voice was hoarse. She traipsed up the stone stairs to the house and this irked mason. He needed her attention. He seized her arm but Mitchelle flinged her arm off his hand "Allow me to go get my suitcase" she glanced up at him, her voice almost cracking. She was breaking, she knew it. She needed someone to hold her and tell her everything would be okay but that can't be her enemy.

Would it?

"Isn't that what you are here for?" Mason couldn't hold his frown, something was up he knew it. Mitchelle always gave a wide berth to him but he's teasing eased that tension between them but now.… "I'm sorry" he apologised. He didn't know what he was apologising for but he did either way. Maybe his attitude and words. He pulled her head to his chest, hugging her "I'm sorry if my words were uncivil but I'm sorry. I promise" and that was the words that broke the dam.

Mitchelle cried her eyes out, clutching onto his shirt like a lifeline. She needed it. After what felt like hours with Mason, sure that something really happened with her but never dare ask her about it. They haven't reached a part where he could ask her about her personal life. He kissed her hair and Michelle pulled away, cleaning her eyes. She evaded his eyes and went inside not saying anything. Mason left her.

Minutes later, she came out with her suitcase in her hand. Mason helped her ease it inside the car, opening the door for her, she stepped inside. They drove to the airport, with only the soft breathing of mitchelle in the car. His eyes skewed to her and found out she's slept already.

Arriving at the jet terminal, his personal chauffeur was there already to take his car back to his apartment. He took Mitchelle inside the private jet, where he placed her inside one of the rooms. Kissing her hair, he eyes tracing every curve of her face "you are pushing me to look into you which I don't want to. I can't stand and see you cry and be hurt every time I see you. I can't be patient enough Mitchelle" he murmured, kissing her hair one last time before leaving through the door. Mitchelle's eyes opened.
