Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

"Good day sir"the waitress bowed a bit at mason, mitchelle rolled her eyes at the act. He was a popular customer here. "I reserved a table this evening, mind showing us to it?"

"Follow me sir" the waitress led them to a private room, the luxury emanating from the room was a tattletale on how expensive it would be. She never fancied all this life even while she had lived in it at a time.

The table was overlooking the whole city,it was a sight to behold. They could see cars moving to and from to their various destinations, families of three, four holding hands whilst walking, children laughing—everything was a sight. Sirens blaring far ahead in the distance.

"Do you like it?"Mason asked,he had seen the way her eyes kept twinkling, staring down on the streets. Mitchelle hummed in affirmation, she loved it "yeah" she answered curtly not trying to fuel his ego with too many words, Mason knew getting a word out of her lips was like making a pig fly.

The serenity went on with no one saying anything to each other,Mason found himself not able to take his eyes off her and Michelle not able to take her eyes off the streets. They got themselves back when a throat was cleared, the waiter walked in, it was a male.

He was tensed, she could see it but who wouldn't be tensed when close to mason. She mentally rolled her eyes. Her eyes fell to the nervous guy, she was angry. He was also a damn man and should not be scared of his fellow gender who was putting on a clean Armani ironed suit that may cost his feeding for a year or so, nevertheless he shouldn't. He made a statement that she wasn't paying attention to and left.

He was only trying to do his job and mason was on his neck ready to launch at him with his eyes. Mitchelle had seen the way Mason intimidated the waiter with his aura and she didn't like it at all,his ego was taking him nowhere close to her heart—or he was already in her heart.

Whatever.

She picked up the menu,it was a two piece and mason had picked up one leaving the other for her. She began flipping through the pages "you know, your attitude is disgusting and let me say…um…"her hand stopped on a page like she was in deep thoughts on what to say next but mason knew otherwise, she looked up at his heated eyes ready to wolf her down any moment. She gulped, "Is not enticing at all to lure a woman to you" she smiled at him but the smile didn't reach up to her eyes.

Mason smirked, pushing his body he leaned on the table to survey her very well he smiled coquettishly and said "Is that coming from someone who just enjoyed a kiss from a disgusting person you…"

"…I never said you were disgusting,I said your character and attitude is disgusting. Try working on it boss"she said the last part slurring with a sarcastic tone. Mason guffawed loudly at her expression, her face didn't suit well with what she just uttered,it looked disgusting like she just vomited the most irritating word.

"You are really something Mitchelle, really really something" he tapped on the bell so as to call on the waiter. Mitchelle only shook her head, she has done more than disgracing herself today.

They ate their food in tranquillity,Mitchelle continuously checking on her time. She wanted to leave already but her boss was getting on her nerves.

"Finish the food I will drop you off"mason chided at her,her sulking face looks cute but he was angry she didn't want to stay at the same company and space with him after they kissed.

Wasn't the kiss anything to her? Was it one of those random kisses someone gets when they go to a club? Was that how she was taking it to heart?

"Does my character really irritate you?" Mason asked, was she angry with the way he had behaved toward the waiter "I can change it the way you like"he added appalling mitchelle more.

What was this guy's motive for her heart?

Mitchelle dropped her fork to talk, dabbing the napkin on the side of her lips, she divulged "you know what to do,I don't have to stress a correction for an adult like I would definitely do for a child,do what you think is right to others. I don't think there is anything to change"

Mason couldn't stop the beating of his heart and the swelling of his heart in admiration for Mitchelle. This was the time he needed not act stupid and let this gem slip out of his hands no matter what "thank you" he nodded at her words and michelle shrugged.

"You don't have to come out from the car,I can help myself out" mitchelle tried arguing with mason to stay back in his car. Right now they were at her doorstep, after the little talk they had,it was like the both of them lost the zest to talk or do anything again so they called it a night.

Mason had driven her home insisting he needed to after bringing her out to the restaurant yet couldn't take her back home, which was unmanly of him to do so.

"You don't need to worry,I'm fine mitchelle"he slammed the door and strode to her side with his hands in his pocket. The night breeze passed both of them. Mason weaved his hands into his hair and Michelle rubbed her hands on her arms.

"Get inside mitchelle, the night is cold"he admonished her, mitchelle thanked him and walked to leave but mason was getting all nervous with his sweaty palms inside his pockets.

"Good night mason" mitchelle got to the door and was about to open it but got swerved by mason. He gripped her hair delicately and kissed it. A cold tremor shook Mitchelle but she swallowed it down. "Good night Mitchelle sweet dreams"he kissed her hair one more time and stepped back.

Mitchelle opened the door and went in without looking back at Mason for what he just did now. She slid down the floor clenching her fists into her chest, she sighed.

This was going to be hard.
