Chapter 2 - Chapter 2- School yard battle 2

The youth stared at the monster from the length of the room. That blow that it delivered, if it had touched him. . . . . . . he didn't even want to think about the consequences. He once again marveled at the durability of his sword. 'Just a little more and i can kill it'. The youth thought as he limped forward. The fall had injured him, not severely, but it was very close to that. He could not imagine now that it was weak.

It had not had any blood to consume and he cutting off its arm when it was in need of blood is the only way to have a fair fight.

The monster seeing him limp forward, made no attempt to move, it is moving would make more of its blood spill and it would get weaker. It knew it had dealt him a fatal blow, so it just had to wait until it was incapacitated.

The youth got close and slashed horizontally at the monster. It leant back a little and the blade whizzed past it. If it gave any attack now, it would end the fight for sure.

It was sure he would not be able to retract its hand in time so when the sword had passed him by completely, it tensed it right hand and gave a punch. The youth's eyes widened, he was expecting it to bock the blow but as he saw the incoming fist , he did something even he would not expect he could do.

He suddenly let go of the sword and it flew away from both of them and embedded itself into the wall. Throwing away the sword would make retracting his hand faster but not fast enough to arch his fist back and punch. . . . the fist seemed to be getting closer so he did the next best thing he could think of and held the shoulders of the monster and . . . 'crack' . . . he headbutted it.

The cracking sound was his forehead breaking. The headbutt disorganized the monster's entire attack. He saw a golden opportunity. His short dagger which he had earlier discarded was lying on the floor two feet away from them.

He rolled on the floor and grabbed the blunt blade and dashed once more with a limping leg. The monster was still disorganized and had not gotten over the headbutt. By the time it got itself. The blade had cleanly cut through its` neck.

The youth laid down against the wall to rest after his fight with the monster. After regaining some of his strength, he coughed out a mouthful of blood he had been holding in his mouth.

He picked up his dagger and walked towards the head of the monster, its filthy and bloody flesh reeked of decay and death. He made an incision in the forehead of the monster and spent more than five minutes digging out three bloody like pebbles.

The clanging of pans was still ringing until he went to take out the mechanism that made it work. He did not have to stop the noise since nothing could hear the clanging unless they were on the same floor. But he wanted to be careful all the same since another random monster could wander up the floor he currently was. He removed his sword which was still embedded in the wall and walked to the back of the door.

All his supplies were in a bag which had hidden behind the door. He brought out a half filled water bottle and washed the pebbles he found in the monster's skull. He drank the remaining water and left the trashed classroom. His bag slung on his shoulders as he moved stealthily to the last floor of the building.

As careful as possible not to make any unnecessary noise. He left the building warily as he watched the environment for any movement, the human eye although didn't do well in the darkness, could perceive moment very well. He had planned and stalked and then lured that particular monster into the school so that he could harvest its blood cores. He remembered the days when things were not always like this, but remembering those days now would just bring vague memories.
